In 2017, AFIDEP helped position Demographic Dividend (DD) as the top development agenda at the African Union (AU): Harnessing the DD Through Investments in Youth. The AU launched a continental roadmap to help countries harness the DD by investing in youth, education, skills development, and job creation. L’UA a lancé une feuille de route continentale pour aider les pays à exploiter le développement durable en investissant dans la jeunesse, l’éducation, le développement des compétences et la création d’emplois. We kick-off in Kigali at the 4th Global NCD Alliance Forum with a pre-conference on February 12. The focus is on strengthening financing for #NCDs in the Africa region through #UHC and #PHC. This is part of the ongoing work of the Financing Accelerator Network for NCDs, a coalition including @NCDAccess, @WBG_Health, @results4dev, and @Afidep, to connect with stakeholders and work together towards improving #NCD financing. #TBT As part of the LIGHT research programme, AFIDEP, over nine months in 2024, and following a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop, worked with representatives from the National Tuberculosis Programmes (NTPs) in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and Uganda to enhance the capacity of NTPs in maximising research uptake for informed decision-making.
