Calgary Police Commission has decided to end the wearing of the 'thin blue line' patch by Calgary Police officers. While officers/police supporters wear the patch to honour those killed on duty & those who serve, Commission notes it has roots in division, colonialism and racism.

Calgary mayor Jyoti Gondek says a decision by the Calgary Police to give its unvaccinated employees access to free COVID tests has thrown the City for a loop. Starting today, it was going to be up to unvaccinated City employees to cover the cost of these tests.

Coun Walcott notes it took police commission the better part of a year to complete its review on the complaint against then Cst. Chu. He says the CPS initially treated the complaint as an internal complaint, not a formal public complaint -- so he says it was never investigated.

The fire chief says 162 US firefighters have died from COVID-19. He says mandatory vaccination is about protecting firefighters & community. He says every firefighter must be vaccinated against things like hepatitis when they join up. So he finds the protests "quite bizarre."
