The irony of people arguing for ableist schooling is that you’re repeating a value system you learned in school. Hierarchy self-replicates!

Are you respectful or are you just afraid of conflict? Because as a queer disabled woman, I do not feel respected when people defend those that do me harm.

@AjaSaysHello @DrSamiSchalk It’s killing people’s perspective on garment care. I make custom plus clothes on the side and when we’re picking fabric I ask people to tell me what kind of garment care they are up for, almost no one is OK with anything other than pushing buttons on a machine.

@emilykmay In a misogynistic society, domestic ability is an innate female trait, not a set of skills. In an ableist society, the monetary value of labor is determined by the skill needed to do the job. In a classist society, a person’s value is determined by the value of their labor.

@plscallmeky I don’t freak out right in that spot but I often run out of the bathroom if it has Xelerator dryers. They trigger a massive fight-or-flight reflex in me that can result in meltdown later. It’s a big deal!
