One of my favorite pictures of my Mom from back when my Dad was playing with the Minnesota Twins in 1973. Truth be told it was one of her favorite pictures too. She was maybe 24 years old here. Such a great photo to remember her by. Mom passed away from ALS in 2013.

Jon... As a fan for the last 25 years and someone who always turned to you as the voice of reason in the chaos, you are so close to flipping the switch and seeing what many of us saw. Ridgeback if you have time and desire to put the work in. Golden Retriever if not. We have Mexico rescue mix Ridgeback, Mountain Cur, maybe a little Sharpe and probably everything else under the sun. She's incredible. Super smart, athletic, trail friendly, and alert but doesn't bark unnecessarily, no shedding and loves to sleep and cuddle with the kids. Perfect dog but maybe not big enough for "protection", she'll max at 55lbs.

I'm fresh off reading the biography of George Bird Grenell. The father of the conservation movement and the reason these parks first achieved public funding and protection. It's top of my mind. A very intriguing read if you're interested. Listen to Last Stand by Michael Punke on Audible.
