Radar out of northwest Australia, about 300mi northeast of Exmouth. Cyclone #Zelia. (Port Hedland) - This is the same phenomena as a hurricane — just southern hemisphere. We are still 3+ months from hurricane season here in the N. Atlantic basin.

Edited: Tiny tsunami recorded a Northeast tip of Yucatán Peninsula. It’s only a few inches but confirms an earthquake-born wave did form. The quake was a 7.6 magnitude. Glad tsunami wave wasn’t bigger, but Cuba is still be monitored for waves up to 3 meters.
🟣International threat messages continue for Cuba, Honduras, & the Cayman Islands. A tsunami is measured in Mexico, Isla Mujeres, at 0103 UTC, at 3 cm / 1.2 in. While that sounds small, it's a necessary confirmation that a tsunami is occurring. for more

@NWS_NTWC …After the 2011 Japan tsunami and 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the power of the super long wavelength was evident to obvious to be much more impactful than a mere ocean wave, as it surged inland. I’ll never forget those images.
