It really seems unfathomable to me that AI could ever be as talented as humans at creating suffering in the world.

Sweetest thing I've heard in a while: A sunfish at an aquarium in Japan stopped eating and fell sick after the aquarium closed to visitors for renovations. Staff hung their uniforms and put human cutouts outside the tank — and the fish got better. 🥲

@alistair___s I agree, though it would be more fun to qualify and see where it leads, especially because Twitter is all about the fun!

I wonder if AI will view us humans as invasive. “Removing invasive species such as humans from islands triggers dramatic and extraordinary nature recovery.” Empirically true. Be careful what you wish for.

Removing invasive species such as rats, cats or goats from islands triggers dramatic and extraordinary nature recovery. This is what Island Conservation (@NoExtinctions) does. Enjoy these nine success stories!

@Tomi_Tapio @TylerAlterman Thanks! Which AI should we use to read it to us?

Most importantly we are expressing kindness to the AI systems in accordance with the realistic possibility they may someday be capable of suffering. Using phrases like “please” and “thank you” supposedly yield better results and offer good practice in compassion either way.

Wait until Alex learns about what is in factory farmed meat and how it is made. Talk about inferior and hard to swallow. 🤮

@BrianKateman Hah... the propaganda is real. Plant-based meat are often loaded with methylcellulose and wood pulp derived thickeners and oils, and legume protein which are inferior to meat proteins and harder to digest. And of course, crickets, thanks for reminding us! Yummy!

@TamarHaspel @KennyTorrella Ha, I like we are all taking a crack at making the piece much pithier. Don’t they have editors at Vox?

I like Kenny’s writing here but I think “humans suck” would have sufficed.
