Just back from Thurles and I have to say hurling is in a dangerous place! Too many short puckouts, hand passes, lateral passes and most players filtering back. It’s essentially turned into football! And that I’m afraid is no compliment🙈

I love the fact that the Laois hurlers were given the opportunity to enjoy winning the Joe McDonagh Cup and Dublin game. Isn’t that what sport is all about? If you don’t celebrate winning what’s the point in playing!

As great as today was, no minor game took from the overall All Ireland final day experience! Put minor back to 18 and play it on all Ireland final day. P.S. All Ireland Final Day should be in Aug at the earliest.

Had the buzz of playing my first game post COVID lockdown tonight.. until we go out and they had a sweeper 🙈 I can only imagine it’d be like going for your first pint of Guinness tonight and be given a plastic glass!

Some intercounty managers would want to row it in a bit! Of course we all want to play and watch games but we’re an amateur sport. The GAA are right to exercise caution regarding games. Better to watch how other professional sports & countries fare out first.

11 weeks for the club game and we see counties allocate 3-4 weeks for hurling so the county team can train. It’s nothing short of a disgrace.
Any wonder the CPA was set up.

Very disappointing to see the GAA alienate so many people by going ticket only. Really not fair on the elderly in particular.
GAA supporters are reminded ahead of this weekend's opening round of Allianz Leagues matches that all tickets for games must be purchased in advance of arrival at our grounds. There will be no ticket sales at any venue.

This is a disgraceful decision. Clearly Colm Lyons didn’t see it and his umpires made the decision. We really do need video referees for intercounty games to help situations like this 🤷🏻♂️

Kilkenny, Cork, Tipp, Waterford & Wexford (to name a few) all have 3-4rounds of club hurling played. Offaly and Laois have one round played! Cases very low in Offaly & Laois yet we have to sit and wait. It’s been a disaster of a year so far for clubs in these counties.

Whoever wins the Div 2 semi final this weekend will play 7 weeks in a row. It wouldn’t happen with top tier counties. There was uproar when teams had to play 4 weeks in a row in Munster & Leinster cship in 2019
