Is anyone going to come out and say it, what was done to Eddie Brennan tonight was an absolute stitch up job. There is an onus of trust and respect on the interviewers side, and control over content that goes out. In this game we have privileged access to guests and their time.
Left the phone down for two hours after the game as we can all say stuff and tweet reactionary.
But after two hours, with the benefit of hindsight and video analysis, it was an absolutely horrific and unjust way to lose a game.
@Woolberto
Classy. You know exactly what was done here. A rat is above a weasel. Long enough in the game to know the difference. Created your own shit storm here. Own it.
Captain Charlie Mitchell lifts the Leinster U20 cup to an adoring Offaly supporter. The supporters this team and county have are unbelievable and this team has given them so much to shout about.

@Offaly_GAA
FT. Offaly 2-16 Clare 0-18.
What a second half display as this team for of guts, energy and no little skill raise the hopes of the county once again as they advance to the All Ireland final for the first time since 1989.

Delighted to be making my debut for
@RTERadio1
on ‘Sunday Sport’ tomorrow on a hectic day of league fixtures across 13 venues. I’ll be taking in table toppers
@OfficialDownGAA
as they face
@louthgaa
in Pairc Esler, Newry in NFL.
Adam Screeney rightly gets so much of the plaudits this year for his exploits, but looking back at both the senior and U20 campaigns Dan Bourke has been an absolute revelation, his work rate, ability to create and take scores, and consistency right through both campaigns immense.
A fair rattling off by Johnny Purcell of Mountrath through the hurling finals! Video wouldn't take it all and there was the same for the football!
#GAA
FT. 1-29 to 2-24. Outrageous game of hurling. One of best underage performances from Offaly in years! Some bottle from Murphy getting that last free after Kiely got injured.
@MidlandsSport
Actually rewinding
#LaochraGael
to watch it again right now, and I beg anyone within the county that has a notion how to hurl to give us those days again, even just once.
Offaly, on a big day, with the sun splitting the rocks on a terrace, could you imagine a better feeling.
I’m not a wealthy man, but that Offaly team go order a Happy Meal on me on the way out! Gary Cahill and Shane Hand can have a big Mac! Up Offaly!
@MidlandsSport
FT. Offaly 1-18 Dublin 1-15. They think its all over, it is now! Offaly finally flood the flood as this special group make it back to back Leinster U20 final wins and face Tipperary or Cork in the All Ireland final!
Sheer joy from a team that has united the county!
Thread.
Purposely stayed quiet given there is a candidacy battle in Offaly out of respect to both parties. But when our current chairman goes to the media with my name mentioned telling scullorous lies. I never mentioned the service since it was discontinued as I move on...
1/2 Delighted to be able to announce launch of Offaly GAA TV that I will be providing commentary of all the highlights lf Offaly SHC and SFC games. With highlights of each weekend’s action and also a dedicated website with all archived games.
If Hogan got his red by letter of law’ so be it, but how did Barrett escape any card for the swing that hit Hogan’s faceguard drawing blood? Some hugely contentious decisions so far.
We can talk about all the greats there was before, but again, on the biggest day again, Niall McNamee does what he does. Mightn't have the All Ireland's of the glory years but very hard argue that he isn't the best Offaly has ever produced. Won't see likes again in club football.
FT. Offaly 2-25 Carlow 1-17. Offaly with 3 from 3 and a huge score difference look all but certain to be plying their trade in Division 1B of the 2022 National Hurling league as Michael Fennelly's side continue to progress.
@MidlandsSport
Colin Fennelly doesn't get half the credit he deserves. The ultimate player to stand up gets so many vital goals, creates attacks, wins a bag of frees. He makes that Ballyhale team tick.
#GAA
Special achievement for the Kiely family, 1 and 2 in Ireland and a shot between them. Some battle from the one house considering the field behind them. Cillian just edging baby brother Cathal. Super day for them.

would be sitting in Connaught Street beside him telling him he was one sided.
What a man, these episodes mean so much more when they are close to home, what a time for Offaly and the club scene in Offaly.
What a pair of results for
@CLGLaois
and
@Offaly_GAA
. A novel Leinster Final pairing and following on from great work and progress in both counties. Should make for a cracker of a final.
Offaly GAA are asking our supporters to come out to support our minor hurling heroes one last time in 2022. We are holding a homecoming event tomorrow evening. Please come out and give these young men the welcome they deserve.

Can often be critical of our board. But that is a fantastic appointment given Michael's credentials in the game and his S and C qualifications. Will bring a real professionalism to the squad and hopefully bring on the youth in a positive environment. Best of luck and well done.
Offaly GAA are pleased to announce that the Management Committee are recommending the appointment of Michael Fennelly as Senior Hurling Manager for 2020
We wish Michael the very best over the coming year

After a fairly crazy weekend of sport, delighted to launch a new Offaly sport podcast with
@TheRealJT23
this coming week (depending on the speed of my editing skills) it should be on YouTube and Pod services every Tuesday morning
Really looking forward to welcoming you all back to normal trading hours very soon and mixing the chat at the counter. Great news for all as we start to get back to normal 🤞😎🍾🍻🥃
Despite the news, Kevin Martin remains an Offaly legend. Despite results never shirked an interview win lose or draw. Wish him well, and Joachim well going into last two games. Still bigger issues to be sorted for future of this county. A summer of discontent.
2029 as Stephen Cluxton winning his 16th All Ireland Medal, Player of the year, his 25th Leinster prepares to head up the steps of the Hogan Stand to say a few words.
Ah lads after tonight and the money raise and the effort the lads put in absolutle massive credit must go to
@MFennellyKK
. Not too many intercounty managers would do that but to bring lads out of their comfort zones he has to be commended. Can only bode well for
@Offaly_GAA
.
Not a big thing, but still a touch of class from the Chairman, showing his appreciation for the people in the clubs in the county that made the fundraiser such a success and further evidence with leadership at the top, filtering down across both codes and back into the clubs 👏
FT. Offaly 1-21 Wexford 0-22. An amazing game and credit to Wexford who were full value for a tremendous final. Adam Screeney finishing with 1-12, a huge character testing win for 14 man Offaly. What a team, what supporters and what a county.
@MidlandsSport
Well this is absolutely laughable, and an indication of how GAA is ran in this county. Take an idea, shaft the lads that started it and claim it as a positive. An absolute laughing stock.
Patrons should not be concerned in anyway at the news that Offaly TV will not be airing in 2019.
Offaly County Board will launch within the next 2 weeks an enhanced service for the 2019 season for as many Championship games as possible
That has to go down as one of the best victories ever in an All Ireland, would have had a huge moral victory and massive sympathy across the board if they died with the boots on and lost, but to win in that fashion, was unbelievable.
It's amazing what survives the test of time.
This hurl made by local Des Mannion made back in 1998 ahead of Offaly's last senior All Ireland win which hung proudly around the Cross of Killyon that time.
FT. Offaly 1-16 Antrim 1-15. Heart in the mouth stuff for a finish after Antrim drew level, brilliant catch and powerful run by Oisin Kelly wins it for Offaly. It mightnt go down in the annals as the biggest title won, but Offaly showed great hunger and heart.
@MidlandsSport
Best wishes to both Jack Egan and Shane Nally who both look to have sustained leg breaks in Tullamore today.Hugely unfortunate for two great club men.Ferbane panel devastated as both men recieved standing ovations as they were brought away by ambulance.

FT. Offaly 2-17 Kilkenny 2-16. A special result by a special group of players. Liam Hoare absolutely outstanding, Brecon Kavanagh led the defence at centre back. Rigney a star up front but an outstanding group of players as a collective. A third Leinster final to come.
This is so refreshing from Offaly, the willingness to run out the ball and attack at will showing no fear, the excitement every time Cormac Egan breaks the tackle is unreal. Morgan Tynan running the middle of the field. Lets see this out!
The auld lad making sure Davy Fitzgeralds message is heard, the same book 2 years running, the hard back copy in 2019 and the soft back copy in 2020 😂
@Vincent_Hogan
bestseller!
Hes 59 but anyone a number for Alzheimers Ireland 🤷♂️
Very sorry to have gotten this news when standing beside his proud brother Gary after nephew Eoghan popped over 17 points for Offaly today. A gentle family, and Adrian a proud and brilliant character. May he rest in peace. A proud Birr and Offaly son.
FT. Tipperary 1-17 Offaly 1-16. Heartbreaking. Fair play to Tipperary as they lift the cup, but massive massive questions to be answered in those final moments.
#LaochraGael
is just one of the best shows going. Andrew O’Shaughnessy has to be up with some of the best underage hurlers of all time and a shocking loss to be forced into retirement at 24, a genius!
Can’t stress the importance of Offaly support tomorrow night on home turf. What a result it would be if we could qualify for Leinster U20 Final and this AI Semi. Great group of lads well prepared by
@ShaneHand6
and Gary. Get the whole county behind them. Updates on
@MidlandsSport
The Cahill family (pictured are Adrian's father Jackie and his brother Gary) were presented with one of Adrian's old Birr jerseys last night by Limerick man David Hurley.
David met Adrian for the first time in Whelahan's pub 20 years ago when stopping off after a Limerick match
Things you love to see at half time in Tullamore.
@Glenisk
@Offaly_GAA
Glenisks draw for Offaly GAA gear through their giving away of yogurts to the huge cohort of kids with a number for all entered in the game a great novel idea for kids.
My treasured collection of
@Drumcullen_GAA
SHC medals of my grandfather. 8 of them SHC, 1 JHC and 1 Feis Biorra. The detail that went into crafting the medals is unreal for one of them 73 years old. Best keep sake in the house.
Offaly GAA TV is now live.
Hope all followers near and far enjoy the service. Delighted to be able to lend my voice to the project. It will be a work in progress week to week. Appreciate all feedback and hope it's a useful resource.
Very lucky to have access to teams, from Michael and Leo down to the players and coaching staff, the way they handle and conduct themselves and the absolute professionalism of the whole set up at the minute would make you immensely proud. A credit to represent our county.
Fantastic result for Offaly U20 hurlers. Getting momentum and experience crucial and hopefully another few games. David Nally providing more class as he progresses. Take all the positives as they come.
Michael Fennelly and Offaly parting ways after three year stint is up. Be an interesting appointment to come. On a personal note would like to wish Michael well, very accommodating to us with access to himself and players regardless of result on a given day. Very professional.
People followed on social media. Anthony Daly, Michael Duignan, Brian Carroll, Brian Gavin and The 2 Johnnie's.
People unfollowed. Lauren Guilfoyle, Ultan Dillan, Neil Delamere.

Having seen Joe at close hand from underage club right through with Offaly, always stood out. Won matches on his own at times, freakish scoring tallies for Seir Kieran. His experience will be hugely missed. A class act.
Great weekend of hurling action once again. Hopefully
@Offaly_GAA
might let people who couldn’t get there see the highlights. Ready to go when ye are 📽🤷🏻♂️
As commentators go, I don't think
@hughcahill7
gets half enough credit, outstanding tonight, as he is, and has shown on a broad range of sports that he has done mainstream broadcasting. Switches seamlessly from rugby, to racing, to boxing. Incredible adaptation.
HT. Offaly 2-15 Kerry 0-7. Easily the best half of hurling Offaly have put up during Michael Fennellys tenure, playing with confidence, heads up hurling, hunting in packs, and delivering quality passes. A huge statement in the group if they kick on for the next 35
@MidlandsSport
Delighted to interview new Offaly manager

at The Faithful Fields as he lays out what he wants from his Offaly team and how he plans to build a winning culture in the county. His first full feature radio interview this Sunday on
@MidlandsSport

Michaela Morkan was as fine an athlete as Offaly produced, literally growing up never left the hurl out of her hand, outstanding talent, extremely modest and gave so much service through successful and barren periods. A role model, coach at times and inspiration to all.
I love being reasonably young, but who I'd of killed to be alive in those days, when Offaly were kings, and a Drumcullen man got up the steps of the Hogan stand. I love my people!

It would actually help the
@officialgaa
if they clarified how they will handle the so far, underestimated crowd that is travelling from Offaly and Tipperary on Sunday. If all bar one terrace sold out already and not legislating for any of them being kids surely a massive risk?
Huge
@Offaly_GAA
already gathered to welcome home and support the lads back here in St. Brendans Park in
@BirrCLG
.
The bond this team has created and lifted support in the county is palpable. Huge show of respect to the panel and management. Supporters an absolute credit.
If anyone like me today is having to keep an 8 year old occupied in a car, counting Offaly flags has proved a great game!
For the record, from Killyon, in the back road to Kilcormac, back through the town by Fivealley and into square in Birr, there's currently 107 on display.
The excitement heading to Croke Park and the colour all over the place is palpable. What these young men have given to the county this year goes far beyonf the game today. So postive to hear all the excitement and GAA talk so much lately. Lets hope they can cap off a fine year!
Imagine, Offaly County Board, would take one progressive idea to promote their games free of charge, not consult the creators of the service, masquerade it as their own work and iniative, a day after asking me to promote their Cúl Camps (which I done). Making an absolute laugh.
FT. Wexford 2-20 Offaly 1-18. Wexford goal in last moments of game. Been still a hugely positive campaign for Offaly and a base that needs to be built on. Hard luck to players and management but brought back a lot of pride.
@MidlandsSport
Dublin GAA should have to rescind their last two All Ireland football titles and give one each to Laois and Westmeath to not have us with the weight of history on our shoulders across the Midlands.
Congratulations to
@Shaneguinan1
on getting his first Offaly SHC final and being the first since Joe O’Brien in 1986 from
@Drumcullen_GAA
. Great honour for Shane at his age and without them no games would be played. Best of luck.
Watching the match back after midnight. The heartiest congrats to
@TipperaryGAA
squad, we will be back again and hopefully the start of a healthy rivalry, our lads were incredible today, so proud and so much to look forward to. Incredible group of men.
Might give out about them on the radio, but not behind the bar!
Massive thanks to the lads for calling in this evening, they have done a huge job in getting the county where it needs to be, as was in ways the more important win of the last fortnight. 🟢⚪️🟡
And haulie 😃🫡
If there's tickets still available or not, we have tried since 2.30 today and no success, there has to be a lesson learnt from all this, from distribution of tickets, planning of venue, to site crashing. Supporters that don't miss game club or county at many levels left without.
That is why I have stayed silent on this, out of pure respect to those who put themselves forward and for what has been done in the past.
But seeing today's paper, I will wholeheartedly ask that the delegates of Offaly give Michael Duignan and co a chance to rebuild our county.
FT. Birr 0-20 Kilcormac/Killoughey 0-16. One of Birr's finest hours. Playing in Barry Whelehans image they tackled hooked and harried everything. Eoghan Cahill phenomenal.13 points, 6 from play sets up a meeting with rivals St Rynaghs. Hurling, what a game!
@MidlandsSport
FT. Offaly 1-19 Dublin 2-12. Offaly reach the Leinster U20 final with a brilliant performance led by the majestic Sam Bourke at centre back. A team built with fantastic work rate, team ethic and no little skill, what a response from Offaly considering injuries.
@MidlandsSport
