While we are extremely disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision, unfortunately, we are not surprised. MCEA believes that our public schools should remain inclusive places where differences are celebrated.

#MCPS continues to waste taxpayer $$$ keeping parents out of the classroom, the curriculum, and out of their X accts. At least one has been corrected today. Freedom of speech & transparency in government matters. These are government schools & they are accountable to the public.

If students are having AI write their papers, and professors are having AI grade their papers, it suggests to me that in these particular environments, the work is not meaningful, purposeful, or valuable for either students or teachers. There’s a fix for that:.

The real “book banners” are the public schools who, instead of teaching whole books & encouraging a true love of reading & learning, offer out of context excerpts to students. They can’t even give the kids textbooks. They rely on packets & Chromebooks. That’s just gross. #MCPS.

Within Montgomery County, Takoma Park and Rockville are listed as sanctuary jurisdictions. Ofc the entire county is included in this list.
Maryland has been added to the list of "sanctuary jurisdictions," a designation indicating that the state is viewed by the Trump administration as obstructing immigration enforcement efforts.
