Huge day at our House Swimming Carnival! Worked really hard to get this event to a stage where it’s inclusive for all students. Not just those trialing for the school team. It’s fantastic to see so many kids smiling. Reminds me of why I’m in this profession!

On a positive note though, I’ve realised a lot about my own values and beliefs when working with primary aged children within the past 24 hours. Even though it may be challenging to educate others, I’m keen to work with people to build a fantastic program.

@pilly66 Interesting read Shane! Curriculum design is so important in student development, particularly when most teachers have 50ish minutes a week to educate so much. I found the section that talks about short and disconnected units of work interesting. Backs up the game sense model!

Angry Birds was a hit this week! Only half knew what the phone game was, but were instantly hooked when making their towers. Engagement went through the roof when they were able to destroy them by using an overhead throw (slingshot from the game).
