By unanimous vote, the Board of Trustees has elected Safa Zaki to be the sixteenth president of Bowdoin College. Zaki is a psychologist and cognitive scientist whose research focuses on how people divide the world into categories. Read more about her here!

In 2001, Lisa Bouffard started taking one college course each semester while working in the dining program at Bowdoin College. Now, 18 years later, the grandmother of four walked across stage to accept her diploma.

Ruby Ahaiwe ’21 is bing awarded a Davis Projects for Peace Prize! The Projects for Peace grants are awarded each year to undergraduates who wish to implement grassroots projects around the world that promote peace or address the causes of conflict.

, 2009: "TV Guide" rates the “College” episode of "The Sopranos" as the second-greatest TV episode of all time. The episode features a story-line where Tony Soprano and his daughter, Meadow, visit Bowdoin.
When Bowdoin men’s lacrosse players arrived at Whittier Field earlier this month, they were greeted with brand new locker rooms and much more. It’s all part of the Whittier Field renovation project, which recently completed its second and final phase.

Bowdoin has appointed climate justice expert Ayana Elizabeth Johnson as the next Roux Distinguished Scholar. Johnson will teach courses, give public lectures, and engage in a wide variety of other curricular and extracurricular programming and initiatives.
Twenty-four Bowdoin students were offered Fulbright grants for the academic year 2020–2021 at Bowdoin, more than any other college or university offering bachelor’s degrees. We are so proud of our students and offer congratulations to all of them!
Anthropology and music major Josiah Oakley has earned a Beinecke scholarship, which provides $30,000 for graduate studies in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The grant is awarded to college juniors who show "exceptional promise." Congratulations!
