After an opening half of 60:16 on a warm morning, Sabastian Sawe soon fell off of world-record pace. He went on to win the Berlin Marathon in 2:02:16. The 30-year-old Kenyan was never challenged en route to the fastest time of the year and a winning margin of almost four minutes.
