@a On the contrary, it is a foolish statement. >99% of you is the you who is not your thoughts, and emotions are valuable information from your greater self. Notably, listening to your emotions tells you what you really want AND where you are talented.

@a bull encourages emotion suppression on a regular basis. If you understand the psychology of emotions, you know how harmful this is. You are >99% pre-rational, and emotions come from the you who is not your thoughts. bull creates slaves by doing this.

@GlobalHitman They also did it in a way where the optics appear blatantly political, and where making a smart course change makes them look *even more* political. It's a big mess.

@a He might be interested in how persuasive this post is. Top attempts to instill an emotion in the reader. Middle talks past the sale. Bottom pre-supposes that the interlocutor is emotional rather than trying to find the best policy in good faith.

@a That isn't why this post exists. The more you encounter an idea, the more acceptable it appears to you, and the more likely you are to support it. Persuasion starts by setting a frame.

@a The more you focus on a message, the more it feels normal to you, and the likelier you are to support it. When's last time you saw bull direct attention to an extreme anti-immigration idea? Yeah. Exactly. Understand persuasion & understand him better.

@a The more you think of an outcome, the greater chance it becomes part of your future. Affirmations change your subconscious goal orientation. Choose good targets.

@a One strong tell that someone is trying to “speak a future into being” is phrases like red in middle. No one has a crystal ball, so he’s careful to bolster with emotionally charged phrases. “There isn’t any point” is a value judgment, not an argument.

@residentialOG There’s a good article link through this quote if this idea interests you and you want to understand it better. Persuasion is often counterintuitive and very powerful. Understanding it will give you a sword and a shield as you navigate the world.
One persuasion tactic is "speaking the future you want" into being. It aligns the subconscious of reader and writer towards the goal of that outcome, which improves your chances it happens. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. "Future policy WILL BE X" means you want it to happen.
