One of the challenges in esports is the fact there are way more beginners than experts at any given time. Knowledge(like day rates) don’t have a consistent way of being passed down and in the current climate mentors are harder to find. Reach out and engage with each other.
The caster scene is falling apart right now. Orgs have been allegedly using Liquipedia points as a means of paying casters. Casters have been offering work for free to undercut other casters in the middle of negotiations. 10s of thousands in prizepool tournaments demanding free or below min wage work. As a means of developing Tier 2 talent within not just Rocket League but all of esports, there needs to be some standards and ethics in place so people are protected. But with the state that the industry is in right now that just seems unlikely. It's already incredibly hard to develop yourself to the point where you can get these opportunities. But now you're also battling against shady orgs, and now your fellow casters. Casters aren't just there to talk over the game. They turn what otherwise would be a VOD or screaming reactions into a coherent product that tells a story and narrative. They turn the game into an esport. If we don't give a chance for casters to develop, due to shadiness, the next generation will look bleak. Remember that some of your favourite casters today started off somewhere, and built up the scene together. I just wasn't expecting casters to turn onto each other tbh. Shoutouts to the orgs who can see the bigger picture though and give talent a chance to develop into something special and see them for their value. You know who you are and I appreciate you.

@BepoCarrot They exist everywhere! Watched a super interesting YouTube video about a European company doing a lot of it. Takes advantage of people who want to do it right away and don’t do their research.
