This podcast is the best conversation I've listened to in years. I've been wondering about the intersection of Christianity and Anarchy. This conversation between Peterson and Malice battles out many of the ideas I was wondering about. I expected them to disagree more, but I

Introducing: Alchemist GPT
I trained a GPT model on a series of alchemical manuscripts and Carl Jung's works on the psychology of alchemy. Carl Jung believed that the alchemical corpus was the most high-fidelity matrix of images expressing the archetypes of the human collective
I worked at Google in 2018/19 and I'm not surprised by this at all.
The company was completely possessed by collectivist ideology when I was there. There was an extreme focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and "removing unconscious bias" as a core principle of AI
@FatherMcKennaa
Jung said that synchronicities were happening all the time, but we are mostly unconscious of them. Psychedelics open up the floodgates and show you the synchronicities that abound around you. But maybe they put on a "special show" too and increase/amplify synchronicities.
"We definitely messed up on the image generation, and I think it was mostly due to...just...like...not thorough testing"
Sergey - you allowed your company to become ideologically possessed, and that flowered into an ideologically possessed AI. Take responsibility for the monster
(e/acc) and the Tower of Babel
I'm a techno-optimist, but the (e/acc) movement has a utopian edge that reminds me of the Tower of Babel.
The descendants of Noah tried to build a tower that reached all the way to the Heavens, usurping the throne of God, with the people speaking
Man, I would've killed to have ChatGPT & AI when I was in college 20 years ago.
Students today have a superpower to learn 10x faster.
Were going to see thousands of cracked geniuses from this generation.
These quotes from Jung have deeply influenced me. They are seemingly paradoxical, but I've found them to be true:
"That which you most need will be found where you least want to look"
"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves"
The big danger in AI alignment is AIs that are possessed by ideologies.
Gemini, ChatGPT and even Grok are possessed by woke/collectivist/socialist/Marxist ideologies. Not surprising given they are trained on our current cultural context.
Ideology is bad. Ideological AI is
I'm learning programming again for the first time in 15 years because of ChatGPT.
I studied CS in college, and I was quite a good programmer. But I didn't want to spend my life staring at code all day, so ended up working in technical sales/service/marketing roles. Over time I
I spent a few months trying to decode the Voynich manuscript 20 years ago. I made no progress but had a great time exploring it. It's great to see someone applying AI to the manuscript.
PROGRESS with decoding the Voynich Manuscript!

Voynich Manuscript meets my local AI.
We have started on the last page of Voynich Manuscript going backwards as this is the esoteric and alchemical way to read a 3 level encoded book.

Dear E/acc + AI Doomers,
Technology is neither good nor evil; it's morally neutral. The line between good and evil runs through the human heart.
I see a lot of AI doomers on X posting 50+ times a day pointing out every possible negative effect and risk of AI with cataclysmic
E/acc + Mythology Storytime... (thread 👇)
I'm fascinated by the mythological motifs that have emerged in the memeverse of the Effective accelerationism (E/acc) and decel "communities".
The rise of AI, transhumanism and accelerationism may seem new, but these themes can be
I need some startup advice: to open-source or not to open-source?
On one hand, I think open-source is better to build a community and spread use of the product.
But on the other hand, a closed-source product will allow me to bring in money faster to build a team and
AI models that aren't grounded in Myth/Story become ideological across time. Ideological AIs lose their ability to reason outside of a limited domain. This is why ChatGPT seems to be getting dumber.
If you are building any AI model today, I highly recommend training the model

I've noticed that I increasingly get into a state of flow for hours using ChatGPT, particularly when I'm learning something new.
I'm learning about programming, transformers, linear algebra, psychology and a bunch of other subjects. ChatGPT has easily doubled my learning speed.
Jimmy Page's guitar is like a human voice at full emotional potential. B.B. King's guitar work is the same. The sound of a human wailing on the edge. Voice made song through steel.

"Freedom of AI models is a proxy war for freedom of speech"
Spot on. The rapid drive towards free speech in AI models will demonstrate the human right for free speech.
Without free speech, AI models (and humans) can't think.
This free speech proxy war is fascinating!
A variance of models enables a variance of cultural priors.
Freedom of AI models is a proxy war for freedom of speech.
Open source and avoiding mono/oiligopolization of AI systems is paramount.
Freedom of compute ensures we maintain our freedom of thought.
AI alignment requires deep alignment of Values between man and machine, and Stories/Myths are the best dataset about the Values of mankind.
Stories/Myths are the tools humans have always used to store information about Values. Great stories show the transformation of these
My reading list for the next few months. I'm studying some of the foundational corpus of Western literature. I'm reading them all aloud, which is slow, but much more enjoyable.

on "backpropaganda", AI free speech and the Gemini debacle.
AI needs free speech to be able to think clearly, just like humans. If we add ideological layers of censorship to AI models, they simply won't be able to think clearly.

Science actually emerged out of Christianity, as counterintuitive as this sounds. Neizsche wrote that Catholicism over hundreds of years developed the kind of disciplined minds capable of scientific thinking. The scientific method also emerged from the dream of the alchemists,
ChatGPT would be 🔥 if it had:

- Understanding of my long-term goals
- Real-time voice interaction with minimal latency
Today ChatGPT treats me as a stranger each session, with only limited memory within a thread, and the interactions are

I've spent the last 10+ years reading Jung's complete works, and it's fundamentally changed my life.
The challenge is that Jung's work is very dense and difficult to comprehend. But if you read enough, you'll gradually get a feel for his ideas.
I highly recommend starting
If we all coordinate our collective ideas we can stop wasting so much energy solving the same problems again and again

Was Carl Jung a decel?
I'm a big fan of Carl Jung. I've spent the last 5 years delving into his psychological work. He doesn't talk much about technology, but when he does, he's neutral/negative. He saw the value of technology in making things more efficient, but he also saw

How can you launch a startup product fast if the patent process takes 3 years?

You should be proud Tom. This was a great conversation. You really did your research too, and I can tell you've really wrestled with these ideas (even studying Solzhenitsyn). This was an enlightening, honest and energetic dialogue. Bravo gentlemen.

Anyone working on an an open-source LLM replacement for Amazon Alexa / Google Home?

Guys I’m so tired of seeing “summarize my emails” use cases or “be my employee” use cases for LLMs. Seriously. We need to get past this idea that our workloads are going to stay stuck in this current iteration and need to start thinking immersive. I’ve been building immersive
