@bmaz @UTexasLaw Really well! I was happy to see a lot of students there, and then the Justices came out afterwards to talk to them about career stuff. I thought that was really cool.

So happy for my colleague, friend, and predecessor — Ward Farnsworth— to receive such a lovely review! Alas, he’s not on social media…but I suppose that helps make possible his wonderful writing :)
📣Rave review for Prof. Ward Farnsworth's newest book—all of his books, actually!—in @ClaremontInst's Review of Books, from Joseph Epstein. Read it in its entirety:

And just like that, we pick up the NSA/Cyber Command “dual hat” topic right where it was left in December 2020. If you need a backgrounder, here’s my breakdown from then:
SCOOP: Advisers contributing to President-elect Donald Trump’s transition effort are readying a plan to split up the leadership of U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency, potentially soon after he assumes office.

@heybriandawson Most of the band liked their older stuff, and I may or may not have had a comically oversized Cure t-shirt…. But yeah, I heard an interview with Robert Smith on the new album and it sounded promising!

This is a smart insight. I’ve often changed my intended phrasing mid-sentence when an auto-complete suggestion guesses my original planned words, precisely out of an instinct that I somehow wouldn’t seem authentic—perhaps also a desire to write with a more unique voice, too.
The fact that some people use genAI (e.g. for cover letters) imposes a negative externality on everyone's content, especially if that content "sounds like chatGPT" or is worse than chatGPT. As a result, bystanders carry a *burden of authenticity*—the quality bar goes up for them.
