Texas Power Use Hits Record as Solar, Wind Keep Grid Running

(Bloomberg) -- Texas electricity use jumped to an all-time high again as temperatures soar, but solar and wind power are keeping the lights on.
The 35 states that have deregulated all or parts of their electricity system tend to have higher rates than the rest of the U.S., despite promises that competition would make energy more affordable.
