1. A clear strategy & structure
2. A manager who's aligned
3. Money to invest in the squad
4. Good recruitment

The criticism for Vicario is laughable to be honest. A nervy start seems to have been enough to ignore what was a pretty solid performance after the first 15. Couldn't stop either goal, some nice saves, distribution was fine and swept well.

He's an impact sub who came on a free transfer. Yeah he's not a world beater but he's also not a bad player. Most importantly, he's a Spurs player who has barely had any minutes so far - so I don't really see the point of / justification for going in on him already.

I know he's an Arsenal legend but have always had a lot of time for Ian Wright. Unreal striker in his day and has always seemed a good bloke - can be quite funny and much more objective than a lot of ex-player pundits.

Personally, no. I've only seen bits and pieces from the two lads in Germany but from what I've seen Romero is the most developed of the four. Struggled last season but in a possession system and with better players next to him I think he'll have a much better season this year.

We went from 8th to 5th by scoring more, conceding less and getting more points. All without Kane and while playing better football. Clear improvement.
We look dominant for much longer spells so far this season. Next step is to convert that into results more consistently.

I know not everyone is impressed and the fee is high but I really like the Solanke signing. Been saying all summer I was hoping for a striker to come in and for Richie to stay and compete. Solanke not cheap, but he's who Ange wanted so I don't see why it should be an issue.

I don't really see the relevance of this? The point is that he is doing his job very well - winning the ball back and quickly getting it up the field, resulting in shots in goal.
Not sure why the proficiency of the people having the shot has any bearing on the point of the stat?

It's a small sample size but we looked so much more coherent vs Sevilla with Deki on the right. He's the perfect foil for Kane and Son, whereas i see Richarlison as quite similar to Son in style. I think Kulu starts for sure and Richarlison replaces any of them from the bench.

Good performance. Feared the worst after we went behind so early but we took control and caused them a lot of problems - three nice goals and really should've had more.
Press was excellent, Maddison was excellent and three ideal goalscorers as well. Important result.

This is the infuriating thing with VaR - that challenge from Danilo is no different to the one Romero got sent off for against Chelsea. Cleared the ball and then the studs end up on the knee of the attacker.

Feels a reasonable approach to me - our budget isn't infinite & we still have a number of gaps in our squad. At this stage, I'd rather they bought 4-5 quality players (e.g. Maddison, VDV, Romero, Porro) at 30-50m over one superstar.

Personally I'm not willing to write any of the new players off based on this season. From start to finish it has been a mess - injuries, a team low on form and confidence, manager churn, and most of them getting inconsistent minutes. All deserve a chance under the new manager.

Kante - Caen
Olise - Reading
Robertson - Hull
Bale - Southampton
Plenty more examples. By contrast, Royal was from Barcelona.

I think it's a solid window. We went into it knowing we needed a CB and another forward option and we got both. We've also moved on some players that needed shifting and been proactive with managing our loan players.
We've been busier than anybody else has.
