As a social media manager, these past couple of weeks have been some of the most emotionally taxing of my entire career…
I’m a lifelong Lightsaber choreography nerd. When Dafne Keen said
#TheAcolyte
was trying to top ‘Duel Of The Fates’, I’ll admit, I was skeptical.
But not only did they succeed, but the choreography in “Night” is without a doubt some of the best ever put to screen.
I’m in awe.
So, lemme get this straight… 🧵
You’re angry about the Jedi being portrayed in a less than positive light… Despite the fact that George Lucas starting doing this exact thing over two decades ago with Prequel Trilogy and ‘The Clone Wars’.

I feel like not enough people are talking about what’s been happening in
#StarWars
Fandom this past week. So if you’re unfamiliar, here’s a recap:
(Thread)
The choreography in the Sequels was excellent, actually.
It wasn’t “faster and more intense” because that wouldn’t have made sense.
In an era where the Jedi arts have faded, fighting styles were more practical. It matched each character’s style and training level perfectly.
Friendly reminder that a “cancelation” doesn’t have to be the end. We’ve been here before.
If you’re upset about
#TheAcolyte
not continuing, don’t be quiet about it.
Nothing is impossible.
#SaveTheAcolyte
I think these two petitions have ended up encapsulating
#StarWars
Fandom as a whole:
👉 A majority of normal people with varied opinions who want Star Wars to thrive.
Versus
👉 A minuscule vocal minority who do nothing but mindlessly hate and try to ruin it for everyone else.
Yeah, no.
The Clone Wars had many awful episodes during its run. Season one is still considered to be the weakest. And a big section of the fandom hated it during its entire original run.
Don’t bring this revisionist history BS into my mentions.
If you’re big mad at the guy on the left for misspeaking about Star Wars, but you still love the guys on the right despite them *openly hating* Star Wars for years… You’re an idiot. And probably racist. 😉
“If I had a nickel for every time a female Force user who last appeared in The Clone Wars episode “The Wrong Jedi” suddenly showed up in a new Star Wars animated production in the year 2024, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.”
Did you see “Star Wars” in ‘77?
Congrats, you’re a Star Wars fan.
Have you only ever watched ‘SW Resistance’?
Congrats, you’re a Star Wars fan.
Have you pretended you’re a better fan than someone else because you saw SW before they did?
Congrats, you’re a gatekeeping A-hole.
Kathleen Kennedy is still President Of Lucasfilm.
Rian Johnson’s Trilogy is still happening.
The Last Jedi is still canon.
Rose Tico is still going to be in Episode IX.
Mike Zeroh is still the worst.
*Retweet to make a manbaby cry*
But yes, please, tell me again that
#StarWars
Fandom doesn’t have a massive racism/sexism/homophobia/bigotry problem.
Tell me how the word “woke” has totally not been co-opted and turned into a dog whistle for bigots.
I think I owe Torbin an apology. I didn’t recognize his game.
Seriously though, huge props to Dean Charles Chapman and action designer Christopher Clark Cowan for pulling off another phenomenal sequence of Lightsaber choreography in this latest episode of
#TheAcolyte
.
👉 In response, thousands of female creators have taken to Instagram, TikTok and more to create beautiful videos using the audio from Theory’s original video and overlaying it with imagery of themselves expressing their fandom in so many ways.
Women Love Star Wars Too. Period.
An individual’s love for SW shouldn’t be questioned because of their gender.
The galaxy far far away is for everyone. 💚
Them: “So, what did you think of the new Star Wars movie?”
Me: “It’s muddled, nonsensical, messy and rushed. It’s one of the worst Star Wars films to date.”
Them: “So, you hated it?”
Me: “No, I loved it! I’ve seen it 5 times and I can’t wait to watch it again!”
You wanna know what TROS does BETTER than any other SW film?
C-3PO
He’s funnier than he’s ever been. He’s given some legitimately emotional dialogue. And he’s actually a pivotal part of the plot. Plus,
@ADaniels3PO
brings his A-game throughout.
This is Threepio at his best. 👌
So, congratulations to Star Wars Theory and his friends for helping to galvanize the Star Wars Female Fandom! Women have always made Star Wars, women have always loved Star Wars, and women will always be a crucially massive part of our community.
Overall it‘a been incredible to witness female fans come together and support each other, and to see the rest of the community (y’know, actual Star Wars fans) rally around them. This is what Star Wars Fandom should be. These women are the best of us.
Wait, hold on…
They’re not actually trying to push the revisionist history narrative that “fans always liked the Prequels” are they?
Because I was there. That is so blatantly… No, laughably false!
Someone couldn’t be this ignorant and/or this disingenuous.. could they? 🙃
👉 Star Wars Fandom, rightfully so, called BS on these claims, and many female creators came forward to call out Theory and his guest for their misogynistic gatekeeping.
Women have always loved Star Wars, and women have always been a part of Star Wars. You know that, I know that, and those who seek to make a quick buck off of shaming us for being a part of the fandom know that too. They WANT us to be angry. They're bullies. And we know better.
I knew
#TheAcolyte
reactions were going to be toxic, but I truly wasn’t prepared for… this.
This is from ONE page. All from posts referencing Leslyle Headland. And this is just the leftovers. I banned and deleted hundreds more that were arguably so much worse.
These aren’t guys who “just want a good story”.
These are not the type of people who “don’t care” about someone’s gender, sexuality or race.
What they’re saying isn’t being misunderstood or overexaggerated.
These are demented, cruel, hate-filled people who have quite literally fallen to the Dark Side in the most real and genuinely terrifying sense. Their minds have been poisoned by culture war nonsense that has preyed on their worst insecurities.
👉 The biggest SW YouTuber on the planet, Star Wars Theory — who has continued to spiral downwards into becoming an alt-right reactionary — featured an (alleged) psychologist who proclaimed that women “don’t watch” and “don’t care” about Star Wars.
This is my absolute favorite shot in
#TheRiseOfSkywalker
.
Up until this point all the Force bond transitions were done with editing. This fully sells the connectivity and environmental blending that Rey & Kylo are experiencing.
Stunning cinematography by Abrams & Mindel. 👌
These videos simultaneously contrast the amazing women of Star Wars Fandom against the idiotic gaslighting campaign that seeks to erase their existence. I’ll link a few examples below:
There’s a lot of hate and negativity surrounding Star Wars girls right now, but it warms my heart to go on social media and see hundreds of women reclaiming this audio and sharing their unwavering love for this fandom! 🤍💫 STAR WARS IS FOR EVERYONE! 🫶🏼
The more you try to push the false narrative that women are nothing more than “opportunists”, the more they will absolutely dunk on you and continue to show everyone how much of a clown you are. 🤡
You’re bewildered by the idea of different people using the The Force in different ways… Yet, again, George Lucas already set that precedent years ago, and this idea has already been explored in a variety of different ways in numerous different stories.
They are telling us exactly who they are and what they stand for every time they post a comment like this.
And while I stand by my belief that they are most assuredly a vocal minority, they are in no way a small group. There is thousands of them.
👉 Subsequently, fandom menace trolls apparently organized and mass-reported the accounts of several prominent female Star Wars creators who had spoken out against Theory, causing some of their accounts to be deleted.
Woke up to some not so great news.
I’m devastated and mourning 3 years of photos and memories.
@instagram
is where I mainly post my content and now it’s gone.

@Meta
can I get any help?
What people don’t realize about the Sequel Trilogy and its Lightsaber choreography is that it’s much more character and story driven than in other
#StarWars
stories.
And it made for some of the best Lightsaber action we’ve ever seen in this franchise.
(Thread!) 🧵
I think ‘The Rise Of Skywalker’ is a terrible movie and it’s my least favorite Star Wars film.
But I can’t fathom disparaging or belittling someone else for liking it.
In fact, I am heartened knowing that people love that movie passionately.
This is how fandom should work.
You’re frustrated that a coven of witches figured out how to create life with the Force before Darth Plagueis… but you forgot that this series is supposed to be “about the Sith” and could easily be telling the story of how Plagueis learned that power in the first place.
You’re upset about Anakin and Mae & Osha’s creation being too similar… Even though an immaculate conception by the Force itself and someone using the Force to conceive a child are two very different things.
They’re angry, they’re fearful, and they’re lashing out in every way they can. Women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community are in the crosshairs of their offensive.
We should absolutely shun them, pity them, and call them out when necessary. But we cannot deny their existence or their very real effect on our community, nor can we allow ourselves to be gaslighted into believing it’s “not that bad”.
But with “criticisms” like these, I’m starting to think that all of this gatekeeping behavior is just projection, and perhaps you don’t know “the lore” as much as you think you do…
No, dammit, it’s bad. It’s really, REALLY bad. I’m beyond tired of dealing with these fools, and I’m certainly done engaging with anyone who wishes to be willfully Ignorant in the face of this madness.
But, yet, you are constantly pissed off at other fans — and even some of the actors — and attack them for being “fake fans” or “tourists” for supposedly not knowing enough about “the lore”. Therefore they can’t be a “true fan” like you.
But at the end of the day, I can turn off my phone and forget about all this. I can move on and not be bothered by it if I choose.
But if I was black, or gay, or trans, or a woman, that would be completely different story.
I’d like to add that I really appreciate everyone boosting the signal on this, and especially all of your kind words. It means a lot. But I didn’t post this in order to garner sympathy.
The Original Trilogy ruined Star Wars because it didn’t reunite Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padmé & Jar Jar in at least one scene.
George Lucas disrespected these characters by not giving us, the fans, the reunion we deserved.
#RIPStarWars
When this is all over the
#SiegeOfMandalore
needs to be edited into movie. And when December comes (assuming the virus is behind us), put it in theaters as this year’s
#StarWars
film. Thus
#TheCloneWars
series will be bookended by two feature films.
Do it.
(Please & thank you.)
I love what I do. If anything, being able to ban these morons is therapeutic for me. It’s a way to make me feel like I’m doing something instead of just witnessing this s***show from the sidelines. Most of the time it’s fun.
This is Erin Kellyman. She played Enfys Nest in
#SoloAStarWarsStory
.
And I feel terrible that I had to look that up and didn’t know it off the top of my head.
What a wonderful actress that portrayed a brilliant & intriguing character. She deserves to be a household name.
You can’t enjoy your favorite stories, or have an opinion on anything, or even… exist without one of these idiots showing up from out of nowhere to dehumanize you.
Biggest takeaway from
#SpiderManFarFromHome
:
It’s a true comic book movie; Epic, hilarious, & downright bonkers at times! I think it ultimately represents the MCU’s greatest potential. 🙌🕸
Oh, and there’s layers upon layers of twists. Go see it ASAP before you get spoiled! 😉
It’s so wild that Headland has managed to say *all the right things* that would make any fan — especially the dudebros — beyond giddy.
But yet, the “anti-woke” crowd is still angry.
#TheAcolyte
is the best proof yet that their complaints are never deeper than “GAY WOMAN BAD.”
NEWS: Leslyle Headland talks Sith lore in
#TheAcolyte
with
@DenofGeekUS
and cites Darth Traya from ‘KOTOR II’ as an influence:
“I really toyed with utilizing Darth Bane or mentioning Bane. We do not do it in the first season…”
Seeing countless accounts posting “The Acolyte is good” brings warm feelings to my heart.
There truly is more of us.
And yes, by “us” I mean just normal people. Doesn’t matter wether you like or dislike the show.
The loud & weird hater cult has ALWAYS been the minority.
🔥Hot Take🔥
Not only is the
#StarWars
Sequel Trilogy a shining example of how to brilliantly integrate older & established franchise characters into new films, they also feature the career best performances of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill & Billy Dee Williams. 👌
“Star Wars fandom is so toxic—“
No. Star Wars Fans are wonderful. We don’t claim the bigoted people who’ve infiltrated our ranks. They’re not fans, and they never were.
They’re not welcome in our community, and they should be be treated as such.
Leslye is spot on.
“As a fan myself, I know how frustrating some ‘Star Wars’ storytelling in the past has been. I’ve felt it myself… I stand by my empathy for ‘Star Wars’ fans. But I want to be clear. Anyone who engages in bigotry, racism or hate speech… I don’t consider a fan.” — Leslye Headland
