Hundreds of years before Chinese porcelain permanently changed European life they were traded to East Africa. They were used for food consumption but also as architectural cynosures, & were upcycled, modified & knapped. I explore why #archaeology

@Gavin_F_Brewis I also said I don't see the point in comparing However, if we want to compare, then both are the result of patriarchal systems that use or misuse religion to exploit the vulnerable. That's it. One may be new, one may be old, but ultimately that doesn't change reality for victims

@Gavin_F_Brewis Yeah, I'm sure it's under researched and hard to get full statistics. That so few states have rectified it also says a lot, I think.

@Gavin_F_Brewis There's no minimum age limit in some states. I meant to link an article earlier and forgot: It's not to compare, there is nothing to be gained by comparing, but simply to inform as most people seem to be utterly unaware of this happening in USA.
