@CavernOnHumans @ChrisKral4 @TeamMainPhase I've redistributed prizes in multiple RCQ finals just to give my opponent the invite, as this weekend was only the second US RC I did not have to work during. π
The other was Standard when I had no interest in the format at the time at all.

@Jonathan_H0bbs I personally stepped in at Vegas for something of this nature during one of the SL Qualifer events. Me intervening and calling a judge didn't end up mattering in the end result, but I'm glad I did the right thing for a split second failure to maintain game state that "could."

@JGoanos @NileJoanRivers I foiled out Twin right after the unban, already had my foil Twins and Exarchs/Pestermites and some of the other pieces. I also profited like $7,000 from the B&R π€·ββοΈππ

@HouseOfManaMTG I guess I should continue picking up JPN Titan pieces to finish my list since everyone is suspecting a Breach ban π₯Ί Just re-ban Mox Opal and let me live a little ππ

@JGoanos @NileJoanRivers Why not? It's the most fun deck that has ever existed in the Modern format, besides Splinter Twin. Only one is playable now though π€·ββοΈπ

@HouseOfManaMTG Amulet has remained tier 0 or 1 through metas with KCI, Hogaak, Eldrazi, Oko, Mox Opal, Treasure Cruise/Dig Through Time, Faithless looting/Golgari Grave Troll Dredge, and to this day. The deck is always the most broken thing in modern and just avoids bans by being hard to play

@werhsdnas @ChefGreginald @fireshoes Oh yeah, I mean I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I'm just saying having more experience with the deck (especially since you mentioned MTGO vs paper) is definitely likely the biggest contributing factor to you having so many draws.

@LordMumboJumbo Breach has been a niche archetype in Modern for years. It's all of a sudden tier 1 after the Opal unban, and people are losing their shit over it.

@werhsdnas @ChefGreginald @fireshoes Respectfully, you shouldn't be playing a deck you lack experience with at such an event for this exact reason.

@n_yxbloom I genuinely believe banning Breach instead of Opal would turn out to be one of the biggest B&R blunders Wizards has ever made. The only things being worse mistakes would be the Splinter Twin ban, and the GGT unban, or multiple adjustments to individual cards in Vintage like Gush

@Ohbober2 @jakeformayor I mean, I'm also partially biased as I've been playing Breach almost exclusively for 3+ years. Regardless, my point about Opal and it's history are valid.

@Ohbober2 @jakeformayor Breach has never been an "issue" in the format until now. Opal had been part of a lot of past issues including: KCI, Affinity, Eggs, Urza, and now Breach. I think that's a clear indication of what is the healthier ban for the format both currently, and for the future.

@n_yxbloom I strongly disagree. Mox Opal should have never been unbanned in the first place, and Breach would have never been up for discussion as a card that needs to be banned in Modern. That speaks volumes all on it's own.

@n_yxbloom Because Grinding Breach as a deck, has never been a problem in the format. Mox Opal has enabled plenty of degeneracy over the years, and was a clear problem several times over. KCI, Urza, Affinity, Eggs, now Breach. The correct choice is obvious.

@n_yxbloom @MoonCaseyR @jakeformayor You claim they're not a problem in Pioneer, but that mostly certainly has not been the sentiment amongst the general playerbase throughout the formats existence. Breach remaining allows an interesting, and niche archetype to remain. Opal just causing issues in Modern, once again.

@Ohbober2 @jakeformayor It's been my deck of choice for the past 3 years. If they take away Breach instead of Opal, I think it's a genuine mistake. Opal has always caused problems in Modern and looking back, banning it was the correct choice before. Let the niche archetype stay.
