@mfca_now #mfcachat this is an example of playing special and cover 2. You could be in stubbie, Roll/midpoints or 2 read does't matter. You need to push the fits strong

@mfca_now #mfcachat I am going to play rip liz match vs 2 by 2 as a base d&d call will also play cover 1 to stop quick game that way i can handle vertical threats and leverage and handle shallow crossers (in rip liz

@mfca_now #mfcachat THE SINGLE BIGGEST THING TO ABOUT THE COVERAGE is that we DO NOT want to have 2 guys in the same gap and 1 guy to defend the rpo and a gap this is called dbl rotation YOU DO NOT HAVE AN EXTRA FITTER I will give an example

@mfca_now #mfcachat What determines if it is an open b or c gap fit is based on who the fitter is going to be to the rotation if I am fitting the corner IT must be THE C GAP if it is the safety it can be b or c gap but you cannot ask your frontside backer to be in two places at once

@mfca_now #mfcachat this is going to the DL more width to defend zone runs and prevent the center from easily getting to the backer IF the back was aligned away from the bubble you would want to align in 2i and a tight 3 to the back this is going to again give me width on my gp

@mfca_now #mfcachat for 3x1 I am going to play either skinny or special/stubbie based on if I need to help the backside 1. IF I need to help 1 I am playing stubbie/special. IF I do not I am flooding the coverage and playing skate or buzz mable skinny

@mfca_now #mfcachat so to summarize to help with rpo i determine who i want with the ball. where i set my bubble then how i get enough width up front so i give the oline harder angles that way the backers and whoever else is in the fit are free

@mfca_now @mfca_now #mfcachat So I know that if want to play a weak rotation coverage whether it is cover 3 cover 2 or qtrs. That I need to set my b gap bubble based on what my rotation is Think front to back I do not want a safety fitting the C gap in 3b1 I need him fitting the B or C gap

@mfca_now @Wheels_59 I find that most are going to do it on first down or second and MD most 2nd short are shot downs and 3rd down is a different package for most people #mfcachat

@mfca_now #mfcachat first I am going to consider what the offense WANTS to do. Are they better at the running portion or do they want the ball to come out of the QB hands? This is going to be how i start to determine how I can attempt to dictate what I want from an offense. @mfca_now

@mfca_now #mfcachat so to tie it together, if I am running a weakside rotation coverage with the weak safety in the fit, then you need to set the front the strong side so he is fitting the b gap you will then push the backside backer strong and the strong backer out of the box to play rpo

@mfca_now Third, now we get into the nuts and bolts. For example, lets say that I am facing a 10 personnel mid zone team. I know that they will offset the back to run mid zone across the formation and run both 2 by 2 and 3 b 1 RPO. I I also know that they are NOT throwing RPO opposite back

@CoachCHartman @mfca_now @mfca_now #mfcachat I mean that if the RB is to the open b gap then I am playing a shade to the back and a 4i away if the back is away frm the b gap I am playing a heavy 3 to the back and a 2i away

@mfca_now Second I am going to determine how I need to get enough guys in the fit to stop their running game. Are they RPOing with zone runs? Gap runs? those are going to determine how I handle my front. #mfcachat @mfca_now

@mfca_now #mfcachat if you are play in special/stubbie/cover 2 ANY WK ROTATION coverage then you need to make sure that you he is in the C or B gap fit depending on if it is a corner or safety the backer to the 3 wr side in this example is a 3 player he has to read off 3 he cannot play run

@mfca_now #mfcachat I so if I want my B gap bubble to the side of rotation, in this case weak now i want to decide how to align the interior lineman assume 4 down in those gaps. that is going to be based on the back location. if the back is to the bubble line in a shade/nose and 4i strg
