Spotted this Alpina B3 Touring and had to pull over to take a photo. Alpina Green and Cognac leather. 😎😎
Absolute wagon perfection. 😍
Don’t see this wheel option too often either.
Towed this lovely couple in their Volvo 740 up the hill. They were so incredibly grateful as they were on their way to get their Covid jabs and were totally stuck in a dip with steep hills in both directions.
Rushed out of the pub to take this photo after hearing it pull up. I think it can officially be declared Christmas now that I’ve seen an RS2 with a Christmas tree on the roof 😍😍☺️
Yesterday, this handsome man (my boyfriend) surprised me while walking along the beach after dinner and asked me to marry him. I didn’t hesitate in saying “yes”. 🍾🥂
Cannot put into words how happy I am 😍
Say hello to our new car 😍😎
Fiancé and I have just picked up this stunning B9 S4 Avant, the last of the petrol S4s, as our new family wagon. Proper dream daily driver for us both and we couldn’t be happier. Bahnstorming is back on the agenda!

Ok here it is... my new Audi S4 Cabriolet. Manual gearbox of course, essentially the same spec as my old Avant but with a soft-top. Absolutely love it.
Just watched the Top Gear Sabine tribute, and wow, very moving. What a true inspiration. I never met her, but she just appeared to know how to have fun and enjoy herself, screw what anyone else thought. What a legend, the world needs more Sabines.
New company car is here. Went for a Golf GTI with a manual gearbox. Atlantic Blue, 19s, pan roof and, ummm… winter pack 😂
However I didn’t go for leather, GTI tartan cloth is the best! Haven’t run a manual in ages and it’s so much fun. (Ask me again when I’m stuck on the M25).
Enjoying some V8 therapy today. This is my mother’s S4. It wouldn’t start for her earlier, so I’ve been a good son and come down to jump-start it for her. Now I’m out “charging up the battery”. God I miss owning a V8.
Some of you guessed it. My new (company) car is a Volvo XC90. It’s the T8 Recharge plug-in hybrid with 455hp. It’s got a few luxuries like the epic Bowers & Wilkins sound system, pan roof, 360 camera, oh and a tow bar of course. Can’t wait for my summer road trips. 😍
Well this tweet went down well. For all those asking it’s the
@Watercress_Line
. I think it’s almost sold out if you want to ride the train. But you can see it pass by if find yourself somewhere along the route to stand and watch. It runs between Alresford and Alton.
So glad I bought this back. BMW cabins from the 00s are the best. No annoying assists to turn off, just get in, belt up, fire up, drive and enjoy the smoothest drivetrain 😍
Ahhh yes that rare 2015 E220 diesel AMG Black Edition. I always ask the same question. Why? Why do people bother when non-car people won’t notice and car people will mock them? Do you think they stick an Aga badge on their Hotpoint oven at home? 😂
Something I’ve never seen before. A robot scooping up a car and loading it onto a recovery truck. Never seen anything like it. The M340i had somehow bust its oil sump open so they didn’t want to start it, nor drag it and damage the AWD system. Genuinely blew my small mind.
Some won’t understand, but I truly love my XC70. It’s honestly my dream daily-driver. Walking back from the pub earlier this eve, seeing it outside outside the house and it fills me with so much joy. It just nails the brief impeccably. 😍🤩
I absolutely love my Volvo. Look how easy it is to remove the headlights. Locate the two silver pin things, pull them both out, slide out headlight and unplug it. That’s it. Then there’s a simple flap on the back and easy access to all the bulbs. No blood, no swearing, simple.
Gutted my last XC70 experience was cut short. (Bought unseen, had issues, rejected it and got a full refund). But delighted to say that today I picked up another one. It’s newer, more brown, has gained a second turbo, a cream interior and I love it 😍
I’m a life long petrolhead but I couldn’t give two hoots about supercars. This week I followed a red supercar near Windsor. Only realised it was a Ferrari when we stopped at a junction and I saw the badge. 70 reg but couldn’t tell you the model. Anyone else the same?
Absolutely thrilled to announce that on Monday I will begin the next chapter of my career. I am joining the leadership team at Volvo Car UK as PR Lead. Being a life-long fan of the brand I cannot wait to get stuck in.
I’m currently enjoying a few days in Devon with the new XC60.
A rare personal post... today marks four years since I met my BF. He’s absolutely transformed my life and the best thing to happen to me. We’ve had so much fun together! Here’s to more drinking, mucking about with boats and fast cars we can’t really afford for the next 4 years 😍
In Sweden at the moment. While exploring I’ve seen so many lifted estate cars. Cross Country, Allroad, Alltrack, All-Terrain etc. Wish there was more demand for them in the UK. XC70 obviously the coolest of the bunch, but this brown E-Class All-Terrain is very very tasty.
M27 near Southampton. What a mess. Sunlight has made old and temporary road markings shiny. Cars behind weaving around not sure where to position themselves.
@NationalHways
this isn’t acceptable. If a human can’t understand this how can a lane assistance system?
Pretty sure a teenage lad shouldn’t be able to cycle into a Shell forecourt, fill up a plastic bottle from the Co-op with petrol and pay without any questions being asked.🙈😂
Didn’t take me long to modify the exhaust on the S4. Dropped it off early this morning and just collected it. Custom system rather than a Milltek this time. Sounds glorious!
Dear Car Twitter,
Please can someone purchase this utterly perfect E46 328i SE manual saloon with leather sports seats and xenons? Otherwise I fear I may have to, it’s only £1500!
“Our principle is to trust the British public to use their common sense in the full knowledge of the risks.” That’s the second wave confirmed for the end of the summer then.
Had another leisurely stroll near my hotel in Munich this evening and I came across this Z8. 😍
Adore the design, just feel like the wheels let it down… 😕
More and more often I find myself replying to a tweet or writing one based on other tweets I’ve seen questioning an idea or logic then stop myself, delete what I’ve written and just get on with my life. I highly recommend it.
Spotted in a Waitrose car park this afternoon on the way home from the office… B5 RS4. Dream modern classic daily but I fear I’ll never get the chance to own one the way prices are rising. Lovely to see this slightly tatty one clearly in regular use.
This MOT debate has reminded me of one of my many concerns around government ministers and their advisors… when it comes to private cars, how many of them actually understand what it’s like to run a car and rely on it as your primary means of transport? Very few I suspect…
Some spots from the dog walk today. Never seen a red Z3M Coupe before. Have also found myself admiring F10 M5s a lot lately, especially on smaller wheels like this one.
One shiny XC70 that will be going up for sale this weekend, once I clean the interior and take proper pics. Had to make a head over heart decision, which was ultimately lead by expanding ULEZ that covers my fiancé’s office. Will miss it immensely and hope it finds a good home. 😢
Just caught up on Top Gear from last night. The new Civic Type R is a bit tasty isn’t it? I did thousands of miles in its predecessor down autobahns, Welsh b-roads, Japanese mountain roads and race tracks but I couldn’t own one with the way it looked. This one is different 😍
Just got a thumbs up from Noel Gallagher when I rode past him on a country lane on my Ducati. Just him on his own, out for a stroll. Turns out he lives nearby. How random is that!?
Very enjoyable lunch with
@RSdriver00
today. He brought my favourite car from his collection too… the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. He even let me have a drive in it and it’s absolutely glorious 😍😍😍
Pretty ideal two car garage with my XC70 I reckon, especially with all the dirt.
I bloody adore this thing. Yes it’s floppy and rattles because it weighs 2 tonnes and doesn’t have a proper roof. But it puts a massive smile on my face. It’s pretty quiet with the stock exhaust but still has a rumble. Just you wait until I chop the silencers off 😂
It’s new bike day! Here’s me with my beautiful new Multistrada V2S 😍😍😍
Great service from David
@DucatiAlton
.
Can’t wait to get to get it run-in and start using it properly as the weather gets warmer.
Never been a fan of the brushed aluminium trim that’s in my XC70. Always preferred the “modern wood” trim. I enquired about buying new trim pieces but they were hundreds of pounds. Spotted this lot on eBay at the weekend and snapped it up. £30! Bosh. Can’t wait to fit them. 😍😍
Parked next to this 4.2 V8 A6 just now. Such a good sleeper I didn’t even notice it when I parked next to it. Only clocked the badge when I was putting my shopping in the back of my car.
Done a lot of miles in recent weeks, many of them in the dark. Shite HID converted Astras aside, it’s been Tesla Model 3s and Ys that have dazzled me the most, and always just one headlight that seems to be aimed too high. Anyone else noticed the same?
Wasn’t sure about posting this, but thought it might do some good to share. Earlier this week, I took a mental health day. First time I’ve ever done it, but I just needed to hit the pause button to clear my head.
Headed home from the dog walk and attempted to avoid as much tarmac as possible. Mission success. Love this thing, just so capable at doing whatever I throw at it.
Fantastic work from
@PaddyMcGuinness
and
@BBC_TopGear
there. Truly raising the bar. Great to see motorbikes represented on the show, but even better to see a touching, respectful and wonderful feature like that.
This. I live for cars and couldn’t tell you what any of these are. They probably have 2,000hp each but I couldn’t give a shit. Tell me about the next fast estate car coming out of Germany please.
Was going to take the XC70 into London tomorrow, but then this V90 Cross Country was dropped off to me earlier with the most beautiful interior. Cream leather and wood trim. Winning combo 😍😍😍
Ooh ooh ooh! Colour combo win! Brown over tan leather. Excuse my slightly obese caveman vibe I’ve got going on right now as I rushed to get a photo. (No MoJos it’s not an S or manual, but the colour is amazing).
Bit late to the party/car show but here’s my XC70. I think it might be the most enjoyable car I’ve ever owned. Yes I include my old Elise and M5 in that, and no I’m not drunk.
#NewYrCarShow21
My phone is full of random photos of street-spotted XC70s over the years. Still pinching myself that this one I snapped walking out of the village shop earlier today is my XC70 😍
I promise to never wash it.
Turns out ironing my shirt and doing the 180 mile round trip to the office today was worth it.... I got to play with this Golf GTI Clubsport S. It’s phenomenally good fun and feels absolutely rapid. Can’t remember the last thing I drove that was this agile either.
I say this everytime, why is used car shopping such a pain!? A car doesn’t have full service history if it didn’t see a mechanic between 2012 and 2016!
My favourite quote yet “I don’t have the service book, but the oil looks good so I assume it has a full history” 😂
Out and about in Oxfordshire today on some fun roads in this V60 Polestar. Bit concerned that I seem to be enjoying it more than my S4. Admittedly, I’ve barely driven the S4 in 8 weeks, but this V60 is a really rather special.
Delighted to announce I’ve achieved a long-held dream of mine. The owner of the village cafe knows my order before I utter a single word. I’ve never experienced joy like it. 😂
I realise this is quite geeky and sad, but I’m enjoying seeing how the rain is beading so beautifully on the S4 roof since I cleaned and treated it last weekend 😍
Really missing my old XC70, especially now the weather has turned and the S4 is irritating me. Don’t have room for a third car, and with my wedding looming I can’t really afford it either. Certain I’ll find a way to own one again. Easily the best car I’ve ever owned.
Thinking of

today. Took this about four years ago at Heathrow returning from a work trip with him. He was making a scene drifting his suitcase around the barriers with full self-commentary and the works. 😂
An absolute legend and sorely missed.

Love how compact the E46 is. Just look at it next to some modern hatches. There’s a reason I keep coming back to them. I make no apologies that this account shall become dedicated to what was arguably BMW’s best era.
It’s back, with no rattles! It did take them eight weeks though. Rattles were cured by a new fuel tank (yes, really) and front suspension lower guide link. Cannot tell you how wonderfully it drives now, not a clonk or rattle to be heard 😍😍😍
I know the XC70 can cope with mud, but I’ve now confirmed it can do sand too. Often walk the dog here but haven’t driven the byway until now. Will be back with a proper camera soon. (You might recognise this location from a certain Stuttgart manufacturer’s UK press shoot.)
It’s not a Passat Estate, but it is an Arteon fastback, I think it’s now also the most glossy Arteon in the country. Looking forward to spending a few months with this. Adore the pillar-less doors.
I have just been into a supermarket in Wales and was the only person in there wearing a face mask. I looked it up online, nope not a requirement here. Nothing makes sense anymore. 🤯
