Yesterday, teachers working in collaboration from seven secondary schools made a further 330 visors and 210 clips. Taking our total to 1,214 pieces of PPE, which have been distributed to local hospitals and nursing homes.

We are still processing the government announcement from 5.30pm today. We will be sending out a whole school letter first thing tomorrow morning. Until then, know that we remain committed to delivering Inspiration and Excellence, however that will look in coming months.

We are celebrating a superb set of GCSE results this morning: 72.4% of the grades are 7-9. A stunning 29% of all grades were 9s - the most common grade received by students this morning. Well done to students, staff, families and governors for all their hard work.

Deputy Head, Russell Bowen, has been appointed as the new Headteacher of Camp Hill Boys. Mr Bowen's contribution to life at BVGS has been outstanding. We are all very proud of him and wish him the best with his Headship, which commences in the new academic year.

An outstanding achievement for Moonis Haider of L6th. He came first in the country out of 5,300 students who participated in the Senior Physics Challenge. Next for Moonis is a Selection Camp for a place on the team representing the UK in the International Astronomy Olympiad.
