Brilliant work from the Design Technology Department. Today, Mr Roberts, Mr Godfrey and Mr Fowler have been making 50 protective visors for the staff at St. Mary's Hospice, Birmingham. Well done gentleman. A fantastic effort for our wider community.

We are lost for words! This evening parents have arrived in school with gifts, cards, and a banner to show their appreciation to our staff, collected from over 100 of our families! Once again, we can't thank you enough for your support throughout the past 12 months.
#TeamStreetly
Before I tweet all the photos of today I want to mention these girls! Today they found a young boy crying having lost his parents. They calmed him down and took him to a Disney staff member and waited until he was reunited with his parents! We really have the best kids!
As promised! Mr Downie’s first TikTok. He now throws the gauntlet down to all other staff. And yes
@SevernStars
, it’s one of your netballs.

We've been busy preparing 4-week long-life food parcels to be distributed to our free school meal students. Huge thanks to all staff mucking in, from SLT to teaching to catering to site staff. What a team!
To protect our community, we will be doing Lateral Flow Tests with students and staff coming into Key Worker School. To facilitate this, we present you The Streetly Academy Rapid Testing Centre.
In a different & uncomfortable world right now, there are plenty of good deeds going on. Today we loved delivering our excess food from our food parcels and canteen (there was a lot!) to The Thomas Project Food Bank. Huge thanks to all staff involved for their time and effort.
We are delighted with our best ever A' Level results set with over 66% of grades A*-B and 30% A*/A. Equally, fantastic performance on our Applied and BTEC courses. Well done to our amazing, resilient, and hard working year 13. More detail to follow soon.
We have just been informed that on the return of schools, Streetly has been the 3rd most thanked school in the United Kingdom. It's our turn to thank you, our school community, for your amazing support throughout the past 12 months.
@UKThankATeacher
This morning students & staff arrived to our very own 8ft tall Cenotaph to commemorate 100 years since the end of The Great War. A phenomenal piece of teamwork from a brilliant site team, Design & Technology & Art Departments, & students who crafted each individual ceramic poppy.
We are delighted to announce that, following our nomination, Neve in year 10 has been confirmed as a Baton Bearer for the

Today it's the turn of our y11 students to collect their GCSE results. We commend them for their commitment & resilience over the 2-year course. In modern times, no group has ever had to face the disruption they have & they deserve every grade they receive today. Well done all.
We are devastated to hear of the passing of Barry Wood
@Bronzecc
. Barry worked with our school for over 10 years, enabling & inspiring thousands of young people to play cricket! Our thoughts are with Barry’s family & everyone at Bronze at this sad time. RIP Baz
Just want to thank the staff for their help and support with the trip. The kids were also AMAZING this year, we really do set the example out there compared to other schools. Enjoy the rest of half term 👍🏻

Streetly Site Staff - "Hold my beer...."
A huge thank you to the site lads for making it possible for us to open today, & deliver 4/5 lessons to our students. As you can see, every pathway, road, & the entire car park is clear of snow.
Let’s finish with a singalong! What a brilliant Sports Day! Well done to all competitors, spectators and staff on making it a memorable day. See you next year hopefully back at The Alexander Stadium.

Congratulations to Lucy and Lyla who did the double last night! Both receiving subject awards for PE as well as their Midlands Counties league winners medals after a successful season representing West Midlands Schools U16s. Well done girls!! We’re very proud of you 🏆🏆👏👏
We continue to campaign for Centre Assessed A level Grades to go forward for our students and have written to our local MP. In terms of GCSE results, we will offer 6th form places based on Centre Assesed Grades irrespective of the grades allocated on Thursday.
Following 2 hugely disrupted years, we commend our Sixth Formers on receiving their A level and level 3 applied results today. Their resilience and commitment both in school and throughout both lockdowns has been outstanding. We wish them the very best in their future pathways.
We are delighted to announce that our guest speaker at The 2018 Pride Awards in July will be former World Champion Gymnast and Olympic Bronze medallist.
@bethtweddlenews
Amazing effort from our netball girls at The County Finals. U16s runners-up. U14s & U19s are both County Champions, both unbeaten. All 3 teams going to Regional finals. Almost unheard of for a non-selective state school. Well done all.

Thanks to everyone for an amazing evening at The Streetly Academy Annual Pride Awards. It was a wonderful evening celebrating some amazing young people. Particular thanks to guest speaker
@BethCobs1
for sharing your inspiration with our students.
Due to staff shortages, we will be closed to y10 & y12 on Weds 18th March. We have chosen these year groups with the view that they may not require parents to take time off work or seek childcare. Work will be available online. We'll keep all informed as we move through the week.
With complete snow coverage of the site, continued snowfall and forecast for sub zero temperatures overnight, we will be closed on Monday 11th December.
Congratulations to former student, Steven Knight, on being awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honour list for services to drama, entertainment and to the community in Birmingham.
While it’s still cool enough we’ve got our daily exercise in during this morning’s walk. We now have 30 designated air conditioned classrooms & spaces to return to. We’re going to be cool like The Fonz! (Only parents will get this).

@SteveBrownGBWR

A statement from Mr Downie regarding the arrangements for years 10, 12, and 6 before the Summer, & the actions being taken in preparation for more years returning after the Summer Break. Apologies for the 15 min running time. There is a lot to cover.
Unfortunately, due to increasing numbers of staff absence, we will be closed to years 9, 10, & 12 for the remainder of the week. Work will be set online by class teachers. All other years are expected to attend unless they are absent due to ill health or self/family isolation.
Congratulations to the Streetly girls selected for the Netball Superleague Hubs. Katie for
