Great day yesterday at the Open Day

. Nice to meet so many prospective students with their parents . Big decisions ahead for them all. BA Security, Intelligence & Cyber / MA Security & Intelligence/ MA By Research Covert Action, HUMINT & Intelligence Elicitation .
Based on what has been released, Ana Montes is one those increasingly rare agents who was motivated ONLY by ideology throughout her time. The FIREPLACES framework builds on MICE in identifying the more nuanced motivations & diverse range for informing.
Subject to final validation, the online programme ( Taken on a FT or PT basis) will also cover a broad range of HUMINT related topics including recruitment, motivation, legislation, operational ethics, undercover, informants, agents and cyber HUMINT.
Excellent early discussions with students enrolled on our new Masters By Research in Covert Action, HUMINT and elicitation of Intelligence. Some brilliant research areas but lots of hard work still ahead.

Just reflecting on last month's HUMINT event at

that attracted near 200 people from 30 agencies. The bar has definitely been raised. Ideas for next year include intelligence related themes of 'analysis', 'hostile state intelligence agencies', & 'covert action'.
We are now taking applications for our online PG Cert /Masters courses (PT or FT) for January 2024. The course starts with a module on Covert Action & is followed by the HUMINT module.
