Fallout 4 told us that Nate met Nora in 2072.
He was honorably discharged from the army when he didn’t re-enlist after a total of 8 years. Since he enlisted in 2066, that puts his discharge at 2074.
Canada's annexation happened in 2076.

There was no Tomb Raider game in 2009.
In fact, 2009 is the year Eidos was acquired by Square Enix and all their projects got shuffled around/cancelled.
The next Tomb Raider game wasn't until 2013.
TOMB RAIDER (2009) has my all-time favorite gameplay, and the action in the new TOMB RAIDER flick is identical!! It was so rad!!

It's actually indentured servitude--slavery implies no compensation. There's different things you can do while in prison to gain time off your sentence or even earn money while incarcerated.
Also, it's technically allowed as punishment under the constitution, for convicts only.
