@JasonKatzMD @AlexPapolos @AnnGageMD @ChrisBarnettMD @CCCEnthusiasts #TeamPapolos 🤣 But agreed! To quote Elvis Presley (and others) “Home Is Where the Heart Is”. There are 💜s & hemodynamics in both the CICU & surgical CVICU/CTICU. So clearly both are our CCC home too @CCCEnthusiasts @AnnGageMD @AlexPapolos @carlosalviar @ChrisBarnettMD

@NealDixit @CCCTNetwork @JCardFail @AlexPapolos @ddbergMD @JasonKatzMD @seanvandiepen Yes this & some other studies looked at PAC serially. But this data/graph actually doesn’t show proportionality. Initial PAD & PCWP are coupled close. Over time PCWP ⬇️ faster than PAD & thus DPG ⬆️ in acute HF pts getting diuresis. But overall agree w/ your approach for most pts

@NealDixit @CCCTNetwork @JCardFail @AlexPapolos @ddbergMD @JasonKatzMD @seanvandiepen Yes-ish, but not exactly. Our study showed that PAD & PCWP are similar (and thus DPG is low) in CS phenotypes except for RV predominant cardiogenic shock. We only have initial PAC data so cannot infer that the PAD-PCWP is stable serially.

Great to work with @IMMWHC & @gtown_medres residents (now fellows), HF colleagues (including @drsrirao & @SelmaFMohammed) & @hect2701 on this project looking at using novel coronary flow assessment (QFR) in cardiac transplant recipients @PhilLamMD
PUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT🫀📜 We assessed the role of QFR in predicting development of Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy(CAV) in cardiac transplant patients. Thank you so much to @BKenigsberg I learned so much and am truly grateful for the opportunity.

Judy Hochman’s amazing story #critcarecards23 🔑: 1) Clinical trials need teamwork 2) Keep big picture but pay attention to details 3) Persistence important for important question (SHOCK rejected x2 by NIH) 4) Adaptive platform designs & Bayesian stats analysis is the future

Great Debates in Critical Care Cardiology at #critcarecards23 ECLS is Lifesaving: @AndreaElliottUM ECLS is Resource Wasting: @seanvandiepen Both agree that ECLS can save lives. But How to understand who will benefit, and build symptoms of care needs more data.
