@DianeSwonk I don’t think it will have as dramatic effect as we may initially think. If CA builds 80-100k homes a year, statewide of course, 10-15k homes (more?) will not be that significant considering it will be spread likely over years.

@CityJournal This is happening in Oregon too. Policiticans have figured out that its easy to pass inreased tax measures by a majority when the tax only hits a miniority. It’s going to have consequences.

@shanedkavanaugh Government cannot afford to build homes for the homeless at any effective scale. Preventing folks from becoming homeless (i.e. help with rent) has some merit. Addressing the rampant drug abuse would have merit too.
