Everything is about climate change. And bicycles, always bicycles. Down with long covid, but slowly climbing back up. https://t.co/QxGxVl0nvp

Once more for the hard of hearing old people in the back.
This needs to posted again because the message is clearly not getting through. The science doesnβt tell us what to do. It tells us what is needed to avoid tipping points that will lead to climate catastrophe. We children say: unite behind the science. We are only messengers.

@LazarusLong13 @SIPmask I suspect that a good amount of what is perceived as alcohol intolerance is people having a newfound issue with histamines. IIRC, red wine, whiskey, & beer sales have been hit the hardest. All have high histamine. But why not both, eh?

@lucyveepee Lots of anecdotes about fasting helping people with Long Covid. Some research points to SARS2 messing with metabolism (shutting down mitochondria). I guess not eating much because of Pax grossness could be a benefit during acute infection.π€’

@jewstein3000 Egads, I looked at Garner's letter. I had to stop because it was such nonsense. "...there were no control patients with a post-COVID-19 condition without PEM" Yeah, good luck finding LC folks who don't have PEM. Persistent SARS2 effs aerobic pathways bigly. That's behind a lot.

@jewstein3000 Deconditioning is nothing, barely even real. PEM is devastating. Eff these nincompoops who believe everyone has a psychological block to the movements that give them joy.

@elisaperego78 Following sports is getting depressing almost beyond my limits. Major sports pages in the US have been a crime reporting page for a decade or so and now it's almost all injury reports and illness, likely not unrelated. I hope some young athletes learn to protect themselves.

@elle_carnitine Of my last 3 things that required treatments that exist (IYKYK), I had to fight like crazy for 2 of them. The outlier was the severed ACL, but the UTI & meniscus tear were pretty easy to diagnose even if the UTI didn't culture (lots of other clues). Where's my YT male privilege?

@Boenau I remember when an aged JF had to admit that he no longer rode a bike. It was clearly because our infra didn't support seniors and he knew it, but he couldn't allow his mind to make that connection. Instead he opined that he hoped to ride again some day. Sad or karma? Both.

@LieslMcconchie Can you get Denmark to take California's weak sister, Oregon? We may be a bit broken, but the price will be right.

@LazarusLong13 Cool, cool. My 13-yr-old neighbor has needed a new heart since birth. (Amazing team @seattlechildren has kept him thriving, but a transplant is inevitable.) His odds of getting what he needs just improved slightly, but in the darkest of ways.

@KarenStrine3 @chantz_y I'm stealing this one:
Y'all, I have to take a seat and give it to the champ. This is the absolute best response to medical gaslighting about wearing a respirator to prevent Covid.

@LazarusLong13 I'll never not be amazed at how soft we have become in every way. Planet's on fire? No, I can't possibly drive less/at all while giving up high-emissions foods and air travel. Airborne pandemic? Better to be disabled/die than wear a respirator in shared air settings. Cult-like

@janiesaysyay @SalvMattera I can hear that place right now. Tinnitus may not be the worst part of Long Covid, but it's not nothing.
