Since we cleared the school site today more snow has fallen. With the very low temperatures and snow forecast for tonight we have taken the difficult decision based on ensuring the safety of students and our staff to close again tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Following on from the announcement in June where we were graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, BCHS is delighted to announce excellent A Levels results which included one student with 3A*, one B, one with 2 A*, one B and several with A*, As and Bs.

Due to the snow fall last the school site is unsafe as are the roads leading to the school. The bus company are also dubious as to whether they can run a full service. The school will therefore be closed today. Please check for further updates later today.

Having fun at the Essex Healthy Schools Award ceremony at Waltham Abbey Town Hall. Celebrating the achievements of schools across the county including our Healthy Schools Award for 2018.
BCHS are welcoming 32 year 9 students and 3 of their teachers from a school in Denmark today. We are very much looking forward to working with an international school and giving them an insight to how the British school system works. More updates throughout the day!

will be open as normal on Tuesday. Students do not need to wear normal school shoes and are advised to wear suitable footwear for the snow and ice. All other normal uniform expectations remain. We will monitor the conditions each day.
A very full school hall hears from our new Head of School Ms Ryan about our amazing examination results at GCSE and A-level plus all the developments, trips, enrichment and generally great stuff that we do at BCHS.

BCHS open again as normal on Wednesday. Weather looks a little warmer overnight with rain, so hopefully the rest of the ice and slush will be washed away. Students may wear appropriate footwear for the weather again, so trainers or boots will be fine.
