Davidson was one of the 1938 memorialists and a severe critic of the 1943 post-war reconstruction statement, both of which involved public clashes with Archbishop Mowll. They must have reconciled, though, as Mowll made Davidson an Honorary Canon @SydneyCathedral in 1950.
