Me, when I’m trying to pretend the President is a king:
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal. Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.

As I said, Phil’s worldview fundamentally believes that politics and power can be abolished in favor of homo economicus. Fine. I just don’t think such people should be at the grown up table where serious matters are discussed.
