Offense will (deservedly) be the story line, but UF also gave up 40 points in the 2nd half to a struggling offensive team that was down 2 of its best players. At some point, UF’s defense has to start showing up away from Gainesville.

UF did a lot to itself by running some of the worst halfcourt offense you’ll see, but Tennessee only having 5 fouls playing tackle football the entire half is laughable. UF now has to find a way to run good offense against a great defense without Walt (or the refs) helping them.

Understandable that UF would come out a little rusty shooting the ball after a week off, especially against a really good defense. But the static offensive sets are concerning. Have to have more answers there from a schematic perspective after a week to prep.

Always felt like catching a team the first game without a major player can be tough because they’ll collectively play harder and the scouting report becomes less clear. Think Florida should ramp up the ball pressure now though.

Overall, I think we should be pretty pleased with the roster this staff has built. But would still push staff to truly “seek alpha” in the Spring portal by paying up for 1-2 more SEC-caliber pieces that would solidify the ceiling on this thing roster-wise.
