@rhodycynic @DanMcGowan @psychfugues @GovDanMcKee @PVDMayor @CoreyJonesPVD I hope for this too because a well-structured hybrid board—without critiquing how this one could be better—can balance public responsiveness without being purely reactionary. I also hope everyone is sufficiently embarrassed and will conduct themselves better next meeting.

@Micazzi1959 The hybrid school board model is meant to provide balance and accountability, which makes this kind of start especially disappointing. I had hoped we could avoid the risk of gridlock that often comes with this structure.

@jwupun25 I commented, but I don’t condemn people after public humiliation. I know that pain and can’t dehumanize the person enough to pile on. Sorry if that’s disappointing.

@jwupun25 A real answer, please. But if it’s a sad one, feel free to follow it with a hug—I might need it.

@FrankJWoods2 I think there are bills from Republicans legislators that can help RIers. He can vote for those bills.

Health care reform now.
Private practice physicians should be able to bill the government for indirect costs. We would love to have a 15% additional fee from Medicare! The current indirect cost rate is 27%, so physicians can use a 27% bump in the Medicare physician fee schedule! The current system allows each institution to negotiate their own indirect costs, and Harvard's indirect cost rate is 69%!!!! Harvard Business School needs to do a case study on why Harvard is run so poorly that it needs a 69% fee for indirect costs on top of the direct costs. This is on top of Harvard being a non-profit and not paying taxes and having an endowment of $53.1 Billion! Why isn't Harvard using their endowment to pay for the bloated indirect costs?

@psychfugues Bipartisan means Progressive + Republican. I don’t fund corporate-backed efforts where a Democrat grabs a token Republican for a photo op just to prove they aren’t one of those “crazy Progressives.”
