I’m so sick of this. By the way, I’ve also seen disproportionate amounts of negative comments directed towards women candidates & one of the biggest reasons women candidates look comparatively weaker on their CVs, is coz THEY ARE MADE TO DO FREE LABOR in labs they’ve worked in.
This January marks 13 yrs since I started my PhD, & 13 yrs living outside India (I still remember my parents faces dropping me off at the airport!). How fast time flies 😰. Cant imagine who I’d be w/out these opportunities - so grateful to my alma maters Max Planck & Harvard ♥️

Being inauthentic is very hard for me, so I just give toxic people the gift of my absence. The minute I sense toxicity, I ghost 👻 ruthlessly without guilt 👋🏻…it’s worked so well that now I’ve expanded its use to dysfunctional people as well! Highly recommend!
V happy to share that my youngest mentee has received admission offers fr multiple Ivys, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Rice (list goes on!) for his undergrads! 🥳
My heart is full looking at his happiness & seeing his hard work pay off. Celebrating his achievements this weekend 🥂
Very proud of my youngest mentee Harsh Singh, who at 15yo, worked on identifying drug targets from

1 important lesson I’ve learnt from sc-analysis is to never forget that “if you torture the data long enough, it will confess to anything”. It’s taught me to be very very cautions of drawing interpretations and conclusions.

“Maybe I was never meant to be a scientist” is something I have thought abt every day since 2020 - not coz I have imposter syndrome but bcoz it feels nearly impossible to overcome systemic barriers.
And nothing will prepare you for the grief when you lose a parent. 5 yrs losing my dad, and I still get brought down on my knees regularly when random things remind me of him, usually a joke he would have cracked. Prioritize time with family, life is shorter than we imagine.

Oh my sakes! 🤯🤯🤯This is beyond incredible! I come from a biodiversity hotspot myself (western ghats) but never had this amount of success when I did this back in the day! I’m speechless ♥️ Did you do a species count? I’d love to know more about your work

I would only release seq data at publication. I’d also want to protect my peeps (often ECRs) from being scooped which can really demoralize a team & has other career impacts. There is 0 control once data is public & also unfair to ask others to limit their research. Don’t do it!
