IQ is an accurate predictor of intelligence in that if you meet someone whose worldview is centered around it, you know immediately they're one of the dumbest motherfuckers out there.
@KnowNothingTV
Remember when he tried to have a Tesla whistleblower murdered by calling the police on him and claiming he was going to shoot up the place?
Tortuguita was murdered, Oklahoma sheriff talked about hiring hit men to kill journalists, Florida is trying to execute trans people, my own city is building concentration camps for homeless people. I kinda feel like shit's about to explode.
Since George and Kellyanne Conway are trending, remember when their teenage daughter came forward with with abuse allegations about her mother (along with video) and they responded by taking her social media away and explaining it away as the product of an overactive imagination?
@TheExiledDuck
I remember when I worked graveyard shift how much I depended on energy drinks. I still still have a problematic soda habit, but I'm glad to be clear of the hard stuff.
I literally work in a homeless shelter and I can definitively tell you that this "beggars can't be choosers" is NOT shared by the people you're presuming to speak for.
@cosmicranium
You mean aside from mountains of genocide denial and loving dictators so much that he write a whole book about how Julius fucking Caesar was bae?
Still thinking about that time Prager U made up their own Bible story about Jesus setting a beggar up with some venture capital to show that capitalism is good.
@RespectableLaw
Honestly, I'm all for optimism from people who are in a position to follow through on it. We can sit back here and be cynical until the cows come home, but for people in her position, I like to see some initiative to overcome that defeatism and prove us wrong.
I remember one thing that snapped me out of my right-libertarian phase was realizing I seemed to be the only one who I actually believed in that stuff about non-aggression and voluntary association while the others just hated immigrants and poor people.
The backlash against remote work comes down to two things:
1. The need to control workers, surveil them, keep them dependent on capital for everything.
2. The existence of a commercial real estate market separate from residential, and the profits to be reaped from that.
Carceral mentality goes beyond cops and prisons. It's a mentality that says that social problems can be dealt with by simply disposing of people we find troublesome and treating them as a burden to be dispensed with rather than as members of the community.
@dsaorthocaucus
What's great is that when it comes to religion, Mulder and Scully switch their believer/skeptic roles, with Scully rediscovering her Catholic faith while Mulder remains a hardened atheist.
What's funny about the "Easter is named after Ishtar" misinformation is that in most languages it's not called "Easter" but rather some variation of "Pascha."
Jericho, Palestine named a street after Aaron Bushnell, the 25-year old active duty member of the U.S. Air Force who self-immolated for a

two weeks ago today.
The mayor of Jericho oversaw the unveiling.
I've struggled with my faith ever since I first converted. But lately, rather than struggle, I've just been feeling apathetic about it. Pray for me, I guess.
Aside from the blatant reactionary irredentism and genocide apologia, this is a great illustration of the absurdity of nation-states. National borders share the same logic as private property, and leftists have no business supporting either.
Taiwan is part of China.
Somaliland is part of Somalia.
Tigray is part of Ethiopia.
Crimea is part of Russia.
The US loves to balkanize nations so they're easier to dominate and exploit. Don't fall for it.
@Ancommiey
I always knew she was radical by instinct, even if she sometimes allied herself with liberals. That whole "how dare you" speech is not someone who wants to hear about carbon pricing or "decoupling."
@verysmallanna
People thinking this generation of kids is more prone to drug use, crime, teen pregnancy, etc than ever when the statistics show the exact opposite.
Guy who's never talked to a poor person in his life voice: You're clearly privileged if you don't think these people would love to live in a tin shack.
I read Fukuyama so you don't have to. After several recommendations saying that it's a lot more subtle and insightful than people portray it as, I'm here to say that it's so much worse than I expected. So here's a thread of Fukuyama posting his L's. 🧵
I've seen several people talk about how Matt Walsh absolutely would have been a Nazi, and I'm just not so sure about the past tense part of that statement.
Fr. Martin's pathetic pleading about forgiveness illustrates something I think often gets missed about the Gospel: the "sinners" Jesus was calling us to forgive are those who were rejected and scorned by society. He had a different message for the powerful and self-righteous.
What's fun about my job is that unlike Sammie boy here, I actually get to know and interact with real homeless people, and I have met more than a handful who would not make this trade-off.
Man, I sure am a bad guy for...accurately stating that the US government never tried to exterminate the Native Americans like Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews
That's not a defense of the Trail of Tears. I'm making a 100% accurate point about leftists minimizing the Holocaust
On the feast day of Joan of Arc, we remember:
- We stan a butch queen
- Cross-dressing is based and holy
- Sometimes you gotta burn shit down
- God hates the English
The genocide-jacketing of "From the river to the sea" is of the exact type as done with "Land Back" or even just "Decolonize." Colonizers simply can't imagine dismantling a colonial situation without exterminating them personally. Always a tell.
i am honestly convinced a lot of these people grew up rich or something. this is a regular studio apartment with a loft bed, it has a bathroom, a kitchen, a closet. this is substantially nicer than a dorm room. it’s not a “closet” for fucks sake
It's not that I don't want Shia Labeouf to become Catholic. The church should be a field hospital for sinners, and I really hope his conversion is a sincere conversion of the heart. My worry with someone like him is him putting a stamp of sanctity on his abuse.
@katewillett
Unironically tho, training a larger number of people in basic medicine so there's less strain on the overall system has had some impressive results in China and Cuba.
