I did TLC for this first batch of episodes! If you consider yourself a fan of the mahou shoujo genre, you owe it to yourself to give this one a watch.
the first 6 episodes of himitsu no akko-chan are now up on the cat site under [hayden fansubs]. hope you enjoy the hard work me and my team went through to make this possible. more episodes will come when they are finished

Nokotan ended today and literally no one is talking about it. I won.
I'm surprised how receptive people have been to that Nokotan anime considering it feels like one of the most forced and manufactured memes ever. I would expect people to see through this soulless, cynical marketing campaign but it's been very successful.

@Nintentoad2 Lost media is when I search watch minky momo online on Google and the first three results don't work.

Bullshit. Four examples spanning two decades does not constitute a notable trend. The isekai genre as we know it today is completely independent from these titles. This is just a piss poor excuse to hate on Narou, which has been a great platform for amateur female writers.
Remember when Isekai used to be inspired by Shojo manga or was written by Shojo manga authors?. Not anymore. Thanks Narou for ruining everything.

@kyukurii @CanipaShow It is a stylistic choice. That’s not to say it’s well executed, but intentional nonetheless.

Introducing the character designs for an anime project titled "Magical Adventure Momo-chan". This was the prototype for what would later become Minky Momo. From: 魔法のプリンセス ミンキーモモ (THIS IS ANIMATION SPECIAL).Translation by me. Credit to @haydensbakery for the scans.

@haydensbakery It definitely depends on the communities you're a part of. I can't seem to escape Girls Band Cry on my timeline despite its lukewarm popularity on sites like MAL yet I haven't heard a soul talk about the new season of Demon Slayer, Tensura, or MHA.

@Sotoskal1 Somewhat. The bit where the deer girl enters the classroom was the hardest I've laughed at an anime in a while, but the rest didn't do much for me. I wasn't making any claims on the show's quality in my original post.

@KennyLauderdal3 I spoke with them a while back. They confirmed they have a few episodes on tape and are willing to digitize them in the future.

While I was in Japan like 90% of the young women I met were involved in some form of oshikatsu. That sort of idol worship is very normalized. It's not an incel thing in the slightest. It might just be that you and your oomf are close-minded xenophobes.
I don't support genre prejudice and Ave Majuica might be a great show. But why are yall jumping oomf for being correct that a lot of idol slop is made exclusively for incels?? He is still right about that even if this particular show is good.

I don't know where this idea comes from that the 90s was a great decade for anime. There was barely any interesting TV anime this decade before Evangelion. It wasn't until after Eva that we started getting more ambitious, inventive works, but that continued well into the 00s.
how it feels waking up each morning to watch 80s & 90s anime instead of the safe formulaic shonenslop crunchyroll pushes

@edens_sword @JackandKor Since when is any of this valid justification for a channel takedown? Last time I checked having an unpopular opinion on a cartoon isn't against the terms of service.

@goldenwitchfire Yamibou is a weird-ass yuri show from the early 2000s w/ some of the most rapid tone shifts I've seen in an anime. It's an enjoyable watch on a moment-to-moment basis but ultimately messy and kind of forgettable.
