Yesterday my Babcia was 90. A prisoner in the slave labour camps, she took refuge in the UK when liberated at the end of WWII. She has experienced more than I will ever comprehend and is one of the strongest women I know. We celebrated with Makowiec. Sto lat Babica. ❤️🇵🇱

I feel so very grateful and proud to have been a recipient of the Susan Chilcott Award. She is always spoken of so fondly by colleagues that knew her and it is clear she was an amazing woman. It is wonderful that her legacy is able to continue in this way.
Remembering Susan Chilcott, the glorious soprano who was only 40 when she died 20 years ago today and who had so much more to give the operatic world.
