A pleasant memory from last year. The PhD novel, the second of my novels with an #ulsterscots dialect/language focus, became 'The Secret Diary of Stephanie Agnew', and I'm happy to say I now have two critically acclaimed #ulsterscots novels (in addition tae a wheen o English novels). Congrats to Dr Angeline Kelly - in her PhD and novel, entitled “Dear William,” @Angelinekking challenges N. Ireland’s identity & language prejudices. Her research covers Ó Gnímh / Agnew family history, dialect in diary novels & Scots / Ulster Scots writing by female novelists.
