Local Authorities pay rock bottom for care for those with no resources to the Care Homes. Those with savings and homes are then charged extortionate prices to subsidise the state residents. Basically your dad subsidises the other residents.

Forget the video itself. The weather was only just touching 14°c and someone who was recovering from major surgery, lost weight and started chemotherapy couldn't sit outside without a coat. They would be shivering at that temperature.

My husband was at the hospital on 27th November and a ward pre-covid that was always throbbing with patients was completely empty except for him & 4 nurses. He was due to have a minor procedure that they didn't even carry out.

Anyone who has over £12570 in income including their state pension already pays 20% tax on it above that level. The older person's higher tax threshold was abolished a few years ago. Some pensioners still have mortgages having had to take mortgage breaks.
