@cowboyute11 @jaromjordan Utah has a great gymnastics program. It isn’t weird for you guys to be proud of it. Other sports are cool too, especially when performances are so dominant!

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ Each successive bar is the cumulative total. Not in addition to the one prior. The last bar for each administration represents the total number.

Hawley is dead-on correct, and I think his full response is a clear-eyed on the separation of powers and the importance of upholding institutional integrity
I asked Sen. Josh Hawley if he’d back the Trump admin openly defying SCOTUS rulings, as Vance previously articulated in the below quote. “That, I think you can’t do. Andrew Jackson did that, infamously. He was wrong on that. That was the Trail of Tears. That was lawless.”

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ So there are huge barriers to doing it. Not everyone can. Because like you’ve pointed out, some get treated basically like slaves, and their “employers” don’t want to participate in their betterment. So, make it unnecessary to rely on them to renew/transfer status after overstay

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ It takes upwards of 14-32 months, and the only reason is inefficient bureaucracy. It can be improved to be done safely and quickly, and literally no one is worse off for it. People would jump at the chance. And it would make it easier to track malfeasance, not harder

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ The inefficiency is placing burdensome adverse incentives on the back end instead of resolving barriers to compliance on the front end. And it’s arbitrary to favor the former. It’s disproportionate adjudication of a low stakes action.

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ lol. Back to the arbitrary and inefficient solutions. There’s no need to self deport. Zero. Have a good one.

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ Roughly half the illegal immigrant population have their undocumented status because they overstayed visas - the barriers for renewing them, or transitioning from one visa to another, needs to be vastly improved, and compliance shoots through the roof.

@islandjumby @BortBurner @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ Sorry, can’t flip the script here. You’re advocating forced deportations of 20 millions, which we pointed out was inefficient compared to other reforms *such as amnesty*. Plenty of other good reforms clear deportations, which you still cling to as the only solution for *reasons*

@BortBurner @islandjumby @MakewiEatsSpam @JamesMartinSJ So once again, advocating for made up and inefficient solutions that you believe in to make yourself feel better, for reasons that don’t match your stated concerns. Which indicates maybe you want it to happen for another unstated reason. Between you and God, brother.
