You can do that by opening a centre in Calais so people can register their claims for asylum and take a safe route to the UK if they are genuine refugees instead of having to risk their lives to get here and then being granted asylum like 80% of those coming by small boat do.

Gordon Brown lost 91 seats and Miliband lost all but 1 seat out of 41 in Scotland. Starmer knew pushing for Remain/PV was electoral suicide in Leave voting areas but he pushed on with it and bingo 52 Leave voting seats were lost. Even Tory voters support renationalisation.

Me - I've voted Labour at every local and general election since 1977 (despite living in mostly safe Tory seats for much of the time) apart from one (because of the Iraq War) but I wouldn't vote for Starmer if they paid me.

The electoral commission are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I complained about various illegal things that happened during the election like smearing candidates, dodgy posters put up by polling stations, tellers turning people away saying they couldn't vote without ID etc

Since we left the EU the right to return asylum seekers to the country they came from within the EU under the Dublin regulation no longer exists. Any attempt to turn them back which could risk them drowning is against international law.

Asylum seekers which is what most people crossing the channel in small boats are can't claim benefits. They get a weekly allowance of £39 if they find their own accommodation e.g. with family members who are already here or £8 a week if they are put in temporary accommodation.

So rife that the EHRC investigation could only find 2 cases (over 8 yrs) unlawful and when the "accused" were granted a Judicial Review because they believed that decision was flawed the EHRC settled out of court.
Only 0.06% of members had an antisemitism complaint made.

Mick Lynch is RMT not ASLEF which is the train drivers union who aren't even on strike. The trains don't run after about 6pm on Xmas Eve which is when the strike starts so it will only affect the engineering works Network Rail have scheduled all over the Xmas and New Year period.

The problem is that the government can just vote down any Lords' amendments when it comes back to the Commons. There must be some way of getting the provisions that breach protected characteristics in both UK and international human rights law struck down though surely?

He obviously didn't see the film because the main character who was nearly 60 lost his job when he had a heart attack and his doctor declared him unfit for work but he was turned down for ESA despite that. He continued to look for work despite being ill and died from a 2nd one.
