@HeroicMrT @ianwhite21 You cannot argue results don't matter?! Sorry, I'm hijacking a thread here but of course results matter! Social mobility cannot occur otherwise x

@ianwhite21 @HeroicMrT You're entitled to your opinion but you can't argue with their school's results and that comes from a culture where kids feel psychologically safe and nurtured. So yeah it works.

@ianwhite21 @HeroicMrT Sweating the small stuff is important and contextual. As @ianwhite21 said, the setting makes a difference and adds to their culture of belonging.

@DeputyGrocott One of my new to English Year 8s modernised the Herald's announcement in Othello so beautifully. What was even better was that the class, his team, were supportive and encouraging. Culture is so important xxx

I have the absolutely best English team at work, I cannot even tell you how important it is that you have a team that collaborate and align. I honestly think this is down to our HoD who drives for a unified team. It's soft skills at leading a department but so important.

@mrs_denglish I'm sure one of our students paid last year. I've had a look online, it's owned by someone who doesn't have any history in teaching i.e. references their GCSE English teacher. If it helps I've added their tiktok below.

@K2SR7 This looks amazing, I try to get students (when they are ready) to think about analytical verbs to ground their idea. So originally writer creates, then emphasises big idea, then reinforces, cements. I don't know if that is useful x

@Andy405T I don't on all of my lessons. I don't have time 😭. But I'll reflect on a lesson, a concept, an instruction that worked well. I'll often speak to peers about something that didn't work well and we'll hash it out.

@stoneman_claire The problem is there isn't enough time in feedback to have that conversation as to the why. And the lack of that time is really the problem...

@cjaneteach @Team_English1 @LauraLolder @LitdriveUK It's really good for conflict, comradeship, analysis as well. There's a great movie that our kids watch alongside it and @LauraLolder has added a course reader we use on her website.

@Mathew_Lynch44 I can only hope that one day my resources are so utilised! You've inspired me so much over the years and your resources have saved me many times when I wasn't sure how to support my kids.
