I notice that a lot of people are confused by them, so here’s a full analysis of Jing Yuan and Yanqing’s familial relationship, and why it’s incredibly nuanced: it’s not abuse, but it’s not domestic bliss either. aka. Jing Yuan’s generational wealth (and trauma) 🧵

@galaxvee I LOVE THIS THREAD!!! Barbatos is a god built on love, faith, and caring for his people, and they love him and Mond the same way. Barbatos is a selfless god that always puts his people first, and he doesn’t need to be separated from his people or on the throne to be a good Archon.

Firstly, there’s an entrance. It matches all of the architecture, so it was there for a long time. Why would Decarabian have a bridge and opening to the area if he had locked it away, especially something so permanent? If it was for emergencies it wouldn’t be so developed.

Okay but the DETAIL?!? The accurate architecture. Amos. Ragnvindr. Mostly spears being wielded by the common people. Long cloaks being the common fashion. THE OG DESIGN OF THE FAVONIUS SPEAR

First, a quick analysis of Yanqing. I’ll break it down into the elements that most affect Yanqing’s relationship with Jing Yuan: his origins, self-objectification, filial piety, saving face, and how Yanqing represents a new beginning for both JY and the Luofu.

This is repeated over and over again. Yanqing tends to be deeply protective of Jing Yuan and recognizes he has unsaid burdens that must be upheld and grief that Yanqing wishes to alleviate from him.

Not everything needs to be justified or comeuppance so you can like a character in a god-honoring way.

On Signora: that’s a whole other topic, but we don’t know if she holds a grudge against Barbatos personally or is making the most out of her power. She doesn’t seem to remember her past, and even then, only took her anger out on the monsters.

He gave up his power because he trusted that Mondstadt could lead themselves. This includes sleeping to regain power, also for Mondstadt’s sake.

For new year’s, Yanqing got hongbao and this is usually gifted by elders, so it’s likely that Jing Yuan gave this to him. When he’s out of money, Jing Yuan makes sure to pay for Yanqing’s food!

Make any connection you want between Rostam’s death and how Venti is to blame for it, but Signora did not kick Venti for revenge BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T EVEN REMEMBER ROSTAM. SHE FORGOR UNTIL TENSHUKAKU

I love this scene but my problem with it is that so many people keep saying he deserved it when a lot of the lore contradicts otherwise. It’s ok for venti to not have deserved it. Like she’s cruel and you can still like her.
