Also you can BE the organizer at the conference! If nothing is happening then just shout “meet at the bar at 5pm” or wherever, send everyone an email. Everyone is always looking for places to go or to know what others are doing. If there are no plans YOU can make it happen!
Importantly, in these sessions people will often announce happy hours/dinners. GO TO THESE THINGS if you can. Find the group extrovert (there’s always one—if you’re ever in one of mine, find me). This person will introduce you to people/chat your ear off. /11
