I can't even begin to explain what a huge deal this MLB announcement is. We've spent the last two years raising money and sending housing grants to minor leaguers who will now just HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE during the season. Incredible. So happy.

When I was in high school, they tried to ban 2 books from our school library. We protested by checking out literally every book and holding them hostage in our lockers. Kids were rolling carts of books out of the library. It was awesome. And it worked.

This week was heavy for our baseball community. It still is. I'll tell you what though, when bad things happen, my inbox/phone/DMs are flooded with women in baseball jumping in to help however/wherever/whenever they can. This community is a gift, and I'm grateful to serve it.

I just officially withdrew my kids from school for the baseball season. First public school experience. Title 1. Lots of people said not to send them there but guess what, it went AMAZING and we can’t wait to go back in the fall.

We met at OU on May 4, 2000. He signed with the White Sox 2 weeks later. We’ve been in professional baseball for 24 years, and married for 22. When people ask how we do it, I say baseball life is all we’ve ever known.
We met on August 1, 2000 on a dirt road in a tiny Albanian village in Kosovo, 2 km from the Serbian border. It was fresh from the Milosevic dictatorship + genocide, and I was there to teach English to teenagers and he was there to be rebuild widows’ houses.
