I don't recommend that a first-time shooter start with moving targets, especially above the horizon. I believe in starting with something that is easy to control and learning the capability of both the firearm and the shooter.

Around 75% of current active duty and reserve service members vote red. That number is even higher for veterans. The armament, skill level, and preparation already attained by millions of red civilians is more than most armies. It'd be ugly, but it'd be decisive.

Why do you only show at "gun deaths?" Just show murders and suicides. That's what matters most. Swapping a gun for a knife is irrelevant - dead is dead.
By the way, there are multiple studies on the defensive use of firearms. Your logic falls to the data.

I personally don't recommend a 12 gauge due to recoil. I typically recommend first a .22, then a low power center fire such as an AR or other .223 rifle, maybe .410 shotgun. I've seen too many first-time shooters injured because they didn't know what to expect.

These people also still think it's lines on a map. It would be more like the civil wars in China, Congo, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, etc. The closest thing to a map representing sides would be a red/blue voting map. Even that is inaccurate as it shows majority, not dispersion.

I taught myself to shoot a handgun using a tea cup grip. Targets standing at a static range - no problem. I just thought moving and shooting was exceptionally hard. Took a class with a true pro and learned that my technique made it hard. I'm still undoing my bad habits.
