Was at NCAA tourney at Arkansas Tech in Russellville, AR. Had police escort from our hotel rms to our bus at 2am & followed to another hotel after my players got phone calls w/death threats & called “n word” all night. They held the Heil Hitler arm salute as our bus pulled away.

She was my she-ro growing up as a Niki too I looked up to her so much. I almost chose Tennessee because of her. RIP Nikki…just know when u walked amongst coaches we talked about u fondly in our midst. Thank u for all u gave to our game. Our Legend..u will be missed.
Nikki McCray-Penson has died at the age of 51.
She was a two-time SEC POY at Tennessee, two-time Olympic gold medalist, three-time WNBA All-Star, and head coach at ODU and Mississippi State.
