Tonight I'm going to see Madball. In 1996, they attempted to play SLC. During the 1st band, security was beaten. The club shut it down. Kids wouldn't leave. Cops were called, whom were also attacked by sxe kids. Then all hell broke loose. This is when hardcore was actually hard.

Reading about these hardcore/punk characters from the past solidifies why we have such nostalgic desires for these times. Those wild characters just don't exist today, as we exist in a scene of gentrified suburban hardcore afraid of offending the smallest fraction of the scene.
